Has anyone else had a optic nerve sheath tumour?

hi I was diagnosed with an optic nerve sheath tumour behind my left eye and it's taken me sight in the eye away I'm having to use a tripod walking stick for my balance was wondering if anyone else is having same issues as haven't got much help

  • Hello Fowlersmissus,

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that you feel you haven't had much help. I've had a look on the forum for you and found other members of the forum who have had an optic nerve sheath tumour in the past. For example, [@Chrisha]‍ posted this thread  and [@gshield]‍ also mentioned having completely lost sight in the right eye so don't hesitate to respond to them if you wish.

I hope that you will hear from others on the forum who have had a similar diagnosis and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi, I received 28 sessions of radiotherapy earlier this year to control my optic nerve sheath meningioma as it had grown intracranially between my scans in Oct 2020 & March 2021. I had a follow up scan in August and the tumour is stable so not due to be scanned again until Feb. I have no vision at all in my right eye but thankfully no balance problems
