Diagnosed with Optic Nerve Sheath Meningioma

Hello,

I got diagnosed with Optic Nerve Sheath Meningioma in my left eye. As advised, I have started undergoing Stereotactic Radiotherapy. Is there anyone who has undergone Radiotherapy for this condition? Today was my 7th session out of 28. Though I don't have much side effects so far apart from feeling a bit tired, I feel quite scared and upset inside.

  • Hi Chrisha,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read what you're going through at the moment, although it's good to hear you're not experiencing many side effects.

If anyone here has similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon. Even if you don't find anyone here going through or that has gone through exactly this, do use the forum as much as you'd like for any general support from others - it's a very welcoming and understanding community.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • I've also just had a preliminary diagnosis of an optic nerve sheath meningioma ( my consultant just wants to confirm the diagnosis with another consultant) . I have completely lost my sight in my right eye ( can only make out hand movements) so I don't think they are proposing any treatment just monitoring. Can I ask how badly your sight was impacted at the point you were diagnosed please?
