Diagnosed with TNBC - does anyone have the same diagnosis? Looking for support

Hey everyone. I’ve just been diagnosed with TNBC - invasive ductal carcinoma, stage 3. I’m 48, and found a lump around 5 weeks ago. I’m feeling absolutely overwhelmed and really just wanted to come on here to say hi, and to see if I can find anyone else in the same boat where we can potentially support each other through this. I’m now waiting on a full body CT scan, and will start with chemo initially in the next couple of weeks. They’ve said this will likely be six rounds, every three weeks, followed by surgery.

  • Hi Jane, sorry you are going through this.  I’m 34, and was diagnosed with stage 1 grade 3 breast cancer on 14th May. I have had my MRI where they injected a dye to check whether it has spread. Luckily it hasn’t spread anywhere so that’s a positive. I have a lumpectomy on 17th June and will start radiotherapy after this, and very likely chemo.
it’s such a scary time - you never expect this to be you and it feels like my world has turned upside down. I really do believe a positive mindset is crucial, alongside eating healthily and trying to get on with life as normal.  If you want to chat then I’m happy to talk to you as speaking about really helps me.
