Hi, I was diagnosed with a tumour in my pancreas last Thursday19th, I’m still in shock, was told menopause, ibs, then my diabetic bloods went sky high , and my urine turned brown. I was sent for a C/T scan and told by a junior doctor at 10.30 that night. I’m 57 and very very scared, I’m still waiting for …..what happens next
Hi all
Here goes, you may see from my first recent post how truly scared I am. My mental health has hit rock bottom.
i have advanced pancreatic cancer Stage 4. I completed 12 rounds of Folinox and also SABR. I was so sure I would get surgery because SABR had worked. However, upon PET scan 15th September they found a shadow in left hand side supracavical. I did a biopsy last week to be told yesterday cancer has spread to lymph node and now no surgery as spread to a distant node. Absolutely gutted. No mestasis anywhere else, I had two locally before SABR but they have gone. All for this to happen.
Forgive me but I am feeling so angry and bitter and so confused as doctors thought it would be an infection only….
Now I don’t know if I can get on a clinical trial or if no further treatment available.
Best wishes
Lisa
Hi Lisa I'm so sorry to hear this. Our mental health suffers with this insidious disease. It's so heart breaking for you and your family going through chemo and then being hit with this. I hope a clinical triall becomes available for you . I have my first Chemo combination with folfirinox next Thursday to try shrink tumour next to celuac vein. At the moment I have no spread but I'm aware like you it's so unpredictable. My thoughts are with you x
Thank you. I do wish you all the best for next Thursday. You are strong as you have chose this path. We are fighters. You are quite right you will see strong people and others who need support.
This illness is so cruel and unpredictable. My tip for you is eat and stay strong as you will need energy and strength.
I will think of you
Hi Lisa
I'm so so sorry to hear what you are going through.
it’s the most frightening experience, just not knowing what’s coming next. Anger to bewilderment and back again. A daily routine.
I am in the same stage 4 pancreatic that has metastased. Into lungs. I choose not to ask questions of how bad it is, where it is, where it’s likely to go. It would just worry me more.
I know it’s bad but all I can do is the chemo, eat well and enjoy every moment with my 13 year old.
if nothing else this awful disease focuses the mind on what is really important. Family..
Years of drinking semi skimmed … well now I’m on blue top
Thinking of you and the other guys on this chat.
fight the *** all the way x
