Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)

I recently went to the GP with an unusual.looking, tender lump on my scalp. They diagnosed it as a cyst. When I returned saying it was more painful, swollen and red ,diagnosed as cystitis again. Today, I went for minor surgery to remove the cyst and the GP wouldn't remove it, as he said that it looked cancerous. He thinks it is Squamous Cell Carcinoma and is very infected and ulcerated.

I have a raised lump next to it, so now I'm worried it's spread to my lymph nodes.

I am currently just waiting for a phone call in the next few weeks to be seen by dermatology. I'm so scared. I have you g children, and feel they're going to be left without a Mum x

  • Hi Jodes1984.

I realise you posted a few months ago and hope it's okay to say hello.

What a horrible position to find yourself in. Your worries about your young children must feel so overwhelming. How awful for you.

I too have SCC on my scalp and, like you, I'm concerned about my nearby lymph nodes.

I've been thinking about you, and wondering if you've heard anything more about an appointment with Dermatology?

    Take care and warmest wishes.
