Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)

I recently went to the GP with an unusual.looking, tender lump on my scalp. They diagnosed it as a cyst. When I returned saying it was more painful, swollen and red ,diagnosed as cystitis again. Today, I went for minor surgery to remove the cyst and the GP wouldn't remove it, as he said that it looked cancerous. He thinks it is Squamous Cell Carcinoma and is very infected and ulcerated.

I have a raised lump next to it, so now I'm worried it's spread to my lymph nodes.

I am currently just waiting for a phone call in the next few weeks to be seen by dermatology. I'm so scared. I have you g children, and feel they're going to be left without a Mum x

  • Hi Jodes1984 I'm sorry to hear you may have SCC and I understand how worried you must be and waiting for appointments makes the worrying worse, I see you posted this over a week ago  and I have just joined so I hope you have your appointment now.

I recently had a similar experience and have had a possible SCC removed from my face my next appointment is August when I get the results...like you I am feeling a bit scared and it's ok to feel the things we feel during such worry and uncertainty but you are not alone and I hope knowing that helps x
