diagnosed today with breast cancer

hi everyone so I posted last week about finding a lump and my doctor doing a biopsy, I got my results today and I've been diagnosed with stage 1 invasive ductal caricoma ( I think that's what its called) I'm absolute devastated. my consultant says he was also shocked because of my age (32) and no breast cancer runs in my family. he said that it grows from my hormone but is still awaiting the hers2 test to come back. I'm waiting for a MRI scan within a week he said. and my nurse will call me tomorrow to have a chat I wasnt really listening after he said it was cancer luckily my mum and sister were there with me I'm so confused upset and scared all at the same time x

  • Hello sweetheart. I feel so sorry for you. I too was given a core biopsy on Monday and am currently 'existing' through this awful week until I get the results next Monday. The nurses looked pretty glum at what they saw on the ultrasound and when I asked if they thought it was serious, they said 'yes'. Ah well, we will see.
I wanted to reply to you though because I know how much worse it is for you and I have spent a lot of time thanking Heaven that at the age I am (67) I don't have all the hopes and dreams of youth going around my head as well. Of course, whatever age you are you have dreams and plans for the future but it is so much harder for you.
But! Enough of that. You must keep your thoughts positive. Allow your loved ones to come close and hear your worries. Don't bottle it up and don't be alone. The power of the mind is a wonderful thing so make sure you use it well. Bless you and good luck x
