diagnosed today with breast cancer

hi everyone so I posted last week about finding a lump and my doctor doing a biopsy, I got my results today and I've been diagnosed with stage 1 invasive ductal caricoma ( I think that's what its called) I'm absolute devastated. my consultant says he was also shocked because of my age (32) and no breast cancer runs in my family. he said that it grows from my hormone but is still awaiting the hers2 test to come back. I'm waiting for a MRI scan within a week he said. and my nurse will call me tomorrow to have a chat I wasnt really listening after he said it was cancer luckily my mum and sister were there with me I'm so confused upset and scared all at the same time x

  • Hi,

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. The MRI scan will give your consultant more information and decide on your treatment and you may have other scans too. I was diagnosed in October 2019 with IDC HER2 positive breast lump. Trust in your team and they will do the best they can for you.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Silver

  • hi silver days I hope that you are well after your diagnosis, I've already had my MRI and mammogram a few weeks ago I think because initially my consultant told me it appears a small slow growing cancer and then once my tests started to come through they are slightly contradicting those first findings is what is confusing me. obviously I've not had my surgical path results which are this wednesday so they were provisional I'm just hoping that everything is clear now it's been removed x
