Different situation on my end but i can kinda relate. My mum has just been diagnosed with cancer (thyroid), her diagnosis too completely out of the blue and again doesnt run in our family either and shes not in the stereotypical age bracket. Its frankly just a horrible word, the whole world feels different can you relate to that? Keep your chin up lovely, we are all here on this forum to offer support and although everyones situation is different, i think everyone on here "gets it". For me, im at the stage where im starting to feel angry that everyone else is carrying on with their lives (its probably a selfish way for me to feel, but i cant help it!) hi I'm so sorry about your mums diagnosis hopefully whatever treatment they give her works a treat, I'm with you on the world feeling different I honestly dont no what to think or feel at the moment its mind boggling you genuinely dont expect it would happen to you or someone close to you,I dont even no what to tell my kids. dont at all begin to think your being selfish people react in all different stages of grief that's what I was told anyway chin up love x

I'm sorry to hear your diagnosis. Please do not let it get you down. My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago again totally out of the blue. She was in hospital to be treated within 4 weeks as her lump was 15mm, (massive compared to most cases). She has had chemotherapy and a mastectomy since then and has been given the all clear. She then has a re-construction and honestly you cannot tell she has had her boob removed which is amazong since she was a 38E.

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in September 2017 after an abnormal smear test. I know this is a scary situation to be in and you feel helpless but the doctors are great and the research now is so advanced. I then found out in January 2018 that I was pregnant which was terrifying. I was scared that the cancer would affect my son and I worried about how my treatment could continue while I was pregnant. I choose to stop my treatment until I had my son in October 2018. Thankfully he was perfectly healthy and weighed in at a whopping 9lb 15oz.

I have now started my treatment again. I think it helps a lot to keep an open mind and to keep positive. Believe that the cancer will not beat you. Years ago anyone mentioned cancer and it meant death..... now I know many, many people who have survived cancer and are warriors in my eye. Im not very God following but I do believe that God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers! Keep positive and follow these forums for help, support & advice!

charliebabex I have also been diagnosed with the same this week although mine is a grade three with no staging yet. I am trying to keep it together, Im also only 31 years old. Keep strong, modern technlogy is a wonderful thing. Im awaiting a CT scan monday to see if it has spread as my lymph nodes have also been effected. keep your  chin and and stay strong, it will be a tough road but you will get through it. thank you davebbz that makes me feel a little better plus I've spoken to my nurse properly today and got alot more information ( I'm a stickler for knowing everything) I know that I've got my surgery date in two weeks then radiation afterwards not sure if I need chemo yet as still waiting for the hers2 to come back but I'm alot more positive once I've digested everything. congratulations on your lil baby boy what  crumper, weve got 4. two boys 14,13 two girls 11 and 9 and had one of each weight one tiny one mahoossive one tiny and massive again lol I hope your treatment goes well and thank you for making me feel better x

I'm so sorry meggles88 I sincerely hope for good news for you, I'm having the lymph node removal when I have the lump removed beginning of February so I'll know more then I'm also having mri next week so again this should hopfully give more info, I'm just going through every emotion right now as I'd imagine you are but were strong and we can get through this x

Hiya, I am just reading your posts and wondered how you were getting on? I have been diagnosed with invasive ductal grade 3 and awaiting a lumpectomy and senital node in two weeks time to then find out more.

just want to say I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It IS an awful shock and puts you in a mental state of feeling life is draining away from you. It truly isn’t. I have a similar diagnosis to you but it’s at stage 2. (I am also a lot older than you) 

The good news is now that I have had a partial breast reduction (in November) and nearly through the 15 sessions of radiotherapy I can see my way forward to a healthy life again. You will too. 

Hold on tight, the medics are superb. The treatment is amazing.  I am off swimming in a minute and as I say I am more than half way through radiotherapy. I know I am perhaps lucky I have had no side affects to speak of but this experience is awful but not the end of anything. 

You too will come though.

sorry I did not see this reply I'm fine thank you I had my lumpectomy and sentinel node surgery on the 7th feb I wont lie the surgery wasnt good for me especially the sentinel node removal,I've had 2 breast implant and lift surgerys before and this was worse for me. it's been just over 2 weeks and I'm finally seeing some improvement I'm almost able to lift my arm all the way up now, though I caught a chest infect couple of days after surgery and then a sinus infec aswell so was in in hospital as I was really unwell. I get my final results on Wednesday 26th it's been a long time waiting, so I really have no clue wethor my grades or staging has changed I dont no wethor my lymphs were clear or my margins,I'm also unsure on my hers2 as this kept coming back borderline for some strange reason so my preliminary results were all abit up in the air, but I've only couple more days and then I'll finally find out my full treatment plan,I hope your surgery goes well and if you want to talk I'm here xx

 I'm sorry that you are also going through this awful disease, I'm glad you are almost to the end I've not even started yet but thankfully the wait is almost over as I get my full surgical path results wednesday. I'm just so tired mentally even though I'm putting a brave face on for everyone else inside it's just exhausting,I've been on edge the last few days because I know my results are only a few days away and although I know alot of my results and know some of my treatment going forward because I dont no everything its driving me bananas ;) 

anyway I hope you have a lovely swim and fingers crossed you stay side effect free xx
