  • Hi

I’m so sorry to read your story re your husband’s diagnosis!

I just wanted to let you know that my husband was in exactly the same position when he was diagnosed with PC in Nov 22!
It was a massive shock to us too, as he had tripped on holiday in July of the same year and gradually by Nov he could not get out of bed and walk at all!  He had no other symptoms other than more trips to the bathroom at night, only two weeks before!
Turned out PC had spread to his whole skeleton and his hip had deteriorated rapidly!  His PSA was 1250+, Gleason score 4+4

Let’s just say, do have faith with the journey, as after having two hormone injections, my husband was back walking again within two weeks!
After 14 months, monthly hormone injections, six weeks of Chemo, his PSA is right back down to 24!
We both know how much of a waiting game this journey can be, but so worth it, when you see the successes that can be achieved. Please reach out if you need to as I know all too well that’s it’s not easy on us as partners & the family too!

  • Hi thank you for replying to me my husbands PSA was 776 after 1 injection it had dropped to 81 we was amazed with that result, we go on the 6th of feb to talk about his bone cancer IE what treatment he is having my husband didnt realy want chemo as he said he didnt want to be poorly how was your hubby with the chemo ,the cancer is only in the middle region of his bones from his neck his groin its not anywere eles all his organs are working as they should

  • Results back on 23/1, PSA doubled and increasing once again so appears PC now finding other ways to avoid deglerex monthly injections! Now talking about giving him two other hormone tablets as well as monthly injection! It never ends at the mo..

  • Awww no hun how long has he been. On that injection for it to now stop working my hubby on that one he goes for his 3rd injection this Thursday 1st x

  • Just a update  on my husband he doing really well at moment he had his 3rd HT injection yesterday with another PSA blood test done 2 weeks before christmas his PSA was 776 4 weeks after it was down to 81 and yesterday his PSA was down to 25 something is clearly working for him i am feeling Abit better

  • That is amazing. So pleased for you both

  • Good PSA reduction. Let us know how you get on the the consultant tomorrow and what he suggests for ongoing treatment. It would be interesting to know what the consultant expects the PSA to get down to and how long it may take.

  • Hey

Now on Aberatone & Olbarib & Steroids as well as Deglerix (excuse the spelling) so far so good, not too many side effects yet! If they don’t reduce the PSA again then we are back to Chemo once more! Next appointment 20/2 to see how it’s working.. Hope your husbands still doing well!

  • Hi sticher just to keep you updated my hubby starts chemo on the 23/2/24 called docetaxel and also starts a HT tablet along side the HT injections Daralutamide  tablets he is fit and healthy at the moment i am just hoping that he isnt to bad after chemo hope you are doing ok jackie

  • Hi woodywood.  Good to hear from you and that your hubby has decided on his choice of treatment.  I just had my 3rd chemo session this afternoon and as with the other two it went smoothly. I have no doubt that I made the right decision as couldn’t see the point of not killing off as much cancer cells as possible to give other drugs a fighting chance. Time will tell.  My PSA now .30 - last was .44.  Main after effect for me - not feeling able to get enough sleep.
