  • Thank you. I was told that, although the operation (7 hours) was successful, there were complications afterwards. I was in clinical care twice with dialysis the second time for a while. Was there for five and a half weeks. Back home now, full recovery 3 - 4 months. I had no idea how weak and tired I would be. Thank God for good surgeons!

  • I am so sorry you have been unwell but hope you will feel better soon.

No, I wasn't told of a new appointment for the results. However, I decided that I would ring radiology to ask how long results of scans were taking. This was yesterday. The polite lady did not tell me that but she asked for my details and told me that the results were sent to the consultant 7am that morning.

  • Hi Mary,

It sounds as if you should soon be hearing from your consultant. I'm sure that it must have felt strange seeing your him on television, but this just goes to show what a super surgeon you had.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Wow what an amazing surgeon who has a God given gift ,I bet its hard to believe he was the top man who did your operation ,its fascinating I can imagine he's saved many lives and will save many more ,he's a hero .

  • I had an email from the sarcoma specialist nurse, who is a lovely lady, and I had a lovely telephone conversation with her too.

    Her email said:

"I now have the report of your CT scan, and this shows no evidence of any new cancer and no sign of recurrence.  There are some tiny nodules in the lungs which are unchanged since the last scan and therefore thought not likely to be malignant, although we will be keeping an eye on them."

  • Very encouraging news. No signs of reoccurance or new cancer - I'm so pleased you get to read those words, I immediately rushed downstairs to tell my fiancé when I saw your update.

It is reassuring they will keep an eye on those lungs, but certainly take comfort knowing they are tiny and unchanging.

I hope your recovery continues to progress and you go from strength to strength going forward

  • Mary reading this has made my day ,I've been thinking about you so much and this is just what you needed to hear ,Its uplifting and encouraging to hear ,you must be so glad to hear this news after a worrying time waiting for it ,so Mary keep on enjoying your gardening and keep getting stronger and stronger ,well done and stay in touch x
