Thank you. I was told that, although the operation (7 hours) was successful, there were complications afterwards. I was in clinical care twice with dialysis the second time for a while. Was there for five and a half weeks. Back home now, full recovery 3 - 4 months. I had no idea how weak and tired I would be. Thank God for good surgeons!
Hi Mary no I didn't see Super Surgeons on Tuesday ,to be fair I don't watch much TV but I'm sure you found it very interesting considering you had a super surgeon ,he wasn't on the programme was he ??? that would have been something special for you seeing the surgeon who did your operation ,I wouldn't have been surprised to see him considering the amazing operations he did for you ,I remember you saying he was a Top Surgeon x
Hi Jolamine its lovely to hear from you although I'm sorry to hear you haven't been well this week ,I'm hoping its nothing too serious and that you are now starting to feel much better x
Hi Jenny,
Many thanks for your kind thoughts. I am getting a little better each day and should soon feel back to normal. I hope that you are keeping well and enjoying this lovely weather.

He was the first one. It was interesting seeing him on television. He removed a patient's sarcoma.
I am so sorry you have been unwell but hope you will feel better soon.
No, I wasn't told of a new appointment for the results. However, I decided that I would ring radiology to ask how long results of scans were taking. This was yesterday. The polite lady did not tell me that but she asked for my details and told me that the results were sent to the consultant 7am that morning.
Hi Mary,
It sounds as if you should soon be hearing from your consultant. I'm sure that it must have felt strange seeing your him on television, but this just goes to show what a super surgeon you had.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Wow what an amazing surgeon who has a God given gift ,I bet its hard to believe he was the top man who did your operation ,its fascinating I can imagine he's saved many lives and will save many more ,he's a hero .
I had an email from the sarcoma specialist nurse, who is a lovely lady, and I had a lovely telephone conversation with her too.
Her email said:
"I now have the report of your CT scan, and this shows no evidence of any new cancer and no sign of recurrence. There are some tiny nodules in the lungs which are unchanged since the last scan and therefore thought not likely to be malignant, although we will be keeping an eye on them."

Very encouraging news. No signs of reoccurance or new cancer - I'm so pleased you get to read those words, I immediately rushed downstairs to tell my fiancé when I saw your update.
It is reassuring they will keep an eye on those lungs, but certainly take comfort knowing they are tiny and unchanging.
I hope your recovery continues to progress and you go from strength to strength going forward
Hi Mary,
This is just the news that we were all hoping that you'd get. It must be a great relief for you, that everything is moving in the right direction and, you can continue to recuperate, without needing any further surgery.
Do please keep us updated from time to time, as you continue to push yourself back to good health.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
So pleased for you Mary. Continue to get stronger and enjoy life again. Very best wishes to you
Thank you very much and for sharing my journey.
Thank you for being with me along my journey. You, Jenny and others have been reading and posting and watching and waiting. It has meant so much to me.
Thank you very much for your support.
Hi Mary its so lovely to hear from you , it seems like a life time away from when I first saw your posts but I'm really glad I was able to follow your story from beginning to end ,its strange how you just click with some people and realise you would like to know how certain people get on and keep wishing them the best and after all the waiting and ups and downs you ended up with the Top Surgeon in the Country and he did you and himself proud ,I'm so glad it was a good outcome for you despite the long long recovery and I hope you are still getting stronger every week Mary and are able to do a few more things by now ,keep pushing ahead and I hope you stay as well as you possibly can ,take care Best Wishes and please stay in touch I love hearing you are doing well x
Hi Mary,
You are always in my thoughts. I know just how difficult it is to keep up with your mail, when you're not feeling 100%, which is why I try not to pester you too often.
You have had a long and difficult journey, but It sounds as if you are recuperating well. I am delighted to hear that you are managing to do some gentle gardening, but do be careful not to overdo things!
Please continue to keep in touch and remember that I am always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Thank you. Yes, I am so, so lucky that I was referred to that top surgeon. I had my routine blood test today, for my one kidney. The poor nurse couldn't get enough blood and had to have a try in three different places!
I tire more than I realise I will, then rest until I feel like standing up again :-)
Thank you. I try to listen to my body and not overdo things, but my body doesn't always tell me when it's had enough! I think I am being more sensible and not trying to jump before I can walk.
I planted two little white geraniums the other day, ones that Chris had grown in the greenhouse. That was enough. There are five more to be planted, in due course. One day at a time.
