Hi folks,
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.
I did have a nutty day yesterday with roasted cashews, Chocolate peanuts, Cob nuts and then my son came in yesterday evening with a big bag of salted peanuts and I nearly forgot, Mrs B also gave me a bag of mixed nuts. What with the cheese straws as well, I had a really good day. Anyone reading this will think I'm a right nutter (Probably wont be far wrong either)
I didnt dare weigh myself this morning for the scales would probably have said, one person at a time please ha ha. Thanks again everyone, Brian.
Oh Brian, my mouth is watering..,,,

Good morning Jules,
Have just realized I havent posted on this thread for a few days, sorry for that.
I had to go to the dentist about a fortnight ago to have another tooth put on my plate. I had to make do without my plate for two days and became known as the Toothless One. Its so much better now. Have also been busy with the wood turning. I am going to try and turn some wooden birds in Yew as my next project. I have had to buy two more plastic container to put my new turnings in.
I hope your daughters coffee morning goes well and raises lots of money. When you talk about making your cakes, you make my mouth water ha ha. I also hope you have de-stressed from your work. I think all firms have cut back on staff so much these days, those that are left are under pressure all the time, made even worse during holidays or sickness periods. Also glad you enjoy the pictures that get posted. I do believe the digital camera is one of the best inventions of modern times as it has made taking photos so much easier and cheaper. We also get to see photos of places we will never get the chance to visit so also enjoy them myself.
Take care, have a great weekend, Brian.
I will tommorow morning be sending out my latest newsletter. The guy who proof reads it for me couldnt find any mistakes for the second month in a row so quite pleased with myself.
Hi Brian
Same goes for me and it's my thread ha ha. Having said that we are pretty busy chatting elsewhere!
It is lovely that you are still enjoying your turning and I do look forward to seeing the outcome of your next planned project - birds must be quite a difficult shape but know you will conquer it as you have skill and patience (I lack both but am trying harder).
Had a lovely morning at my daughter's and when I left she had already raised over £150 so was thrilled. She was going to take cake up to the school when she picked up her son so that may go up some more. It was a lovely way to catch up with friends and family too for a couple of hours. Went to the gym beforehand and then ate cake (just two small pieces) which I decided could be my lunch. Had to return to the gym afterwards as two of the girls there 'ordered' some of my cake so once it was cut I saved them some and took it back - hope they enjoy it otherwise I will be in trouble tomorrow.
Apart from one shower here at lunchtime it has been another beautiful day and so all the washing is dry and now need to crack on with the ironing.
Wishing you and Mrs B a peaceful and pleasant weekend. Jules
Good Morning Jules,
It's a nice morning for your usual walk to see your mother and afterwards the gym. So pleased you had a good trip at the weekend. I live about 12 miles north of the place you visited so you would not have seen me unless you had a blooming great telescope ha ha.
I am having a rest day today before I start Mrs B's table. Just Hoping I have timber for the top, bottom and shelf. Its a desing I used for a mahogany veneered chipboard one many years ago. Our club meeting is tommorow evening and I shall be taking one each of my new items into to the club. We always encourouge memnbers to do this, and to give a short talk about how they made it ect. We also ask them to do this even when things we have done have turned out wrong for this way others can learn from our mistakes. Photos of members work brought in is then published in the clubs newsletters.
My son is enjoying his new job and is doing quite well. My granddaughter is doing well at colledge and my grandson is doing well at his new school. Its a year ago today we lost Mrs B's brother and our sister in law has been suffering lately. So I have been phoning her more recently to try and cheer her up. It also nearly a year since my dad died. How time flys by these days.
I bet things are starting to get even busier at work. I hope your family are all well. Take care and sending kind thoughts to you and your family, Brian.
Hi folks,
Just heard of the passing of another woodclub member. He joined our club right from the start and was a great wood carver (see pict) and used to prrof read our early newsletters. He hasnt been able to come to our club for several years as he got quite frail but I did speak to him on the phone several weeks ago and so glad I did. That is the third one; they do say things go in three's.
Have tried to turn a robin today but allthough I got the shape about right, the red timber I used was not red enough so back to the drawing board. It looked okay untill I appled the finnish. At least I know where I need to improve for the next one.
I hope your visit to your mother was okay Jules; at least the weather was okay; just a bit windy.
Take care, sending kind thoughts your way, Brian.
