Hi angie the reason for checking your teeth is in case you have any not so good ones.. Teeth and gums can move slightly. So if all OK less chance of problems with them. Mine all came loose. Luckily none came out, and tightened up after. Bit awkward brushing but worked out OK. Had to eat soft things or just drinks. Hopefully others have had same treatment as you and will pop on. how many cycles did you have? Mine were stopped after 4, I had dreadful neuropathy and onco said I was in danger of it becoming permanent. ( happy to say it's subsided somewhat) 

The zometa infusion is a bisphosphonate, I'm on something similar in tablet form. The zometa is a double pronged attack, not only will it prevent cancer creeping to the bones it's a bone strengthening med ( I have osteopenia) so it's a win win med and Defo worth taking.

The dental check up is to make sure you don't have loose teeth and your jaw is in good order,any work will need to be Carried out before the I fusion. There is a very small risk of a weakening of the jaw on this med. Will you be having them every 6 months? I know a few ladies on it and having no problems at all. In fact I'm considering having the infusion instead of the daily pills, as they can be a right faff ....

dont be worried about the zometa.....it's belt and braces and we're lucky we can have it, so try and look at it in a new positive light....

My chemo had to stop after 4 also,got sepcis that almost killed me,so oncologist said they couldn't possibly give me my 5th,but I have to have radiotherapy on my brain in a couple of weeks as a precaution that the cancer doesn't travel there,everything is so scary,I'm crying all the time,the fear,panic and Anxiety is just cruel but I'm on my own so too much time to think,and cannot leave the house without a massive panic attack,I lost my husband to cancer, please keep me in your thoughts as I will keep you in my prayers,Blessings
