Hi All,

The Good- I received news from work yesterday that they will support me as much as they can during the treatment period i.e. paid my salary in full. I am so very grateful with this as we i dont have to think of financial issues during this bumpy journey.

The Bad- MRI found another 2 new suspicious lumps and last night me and hubby decided we are not going to go through with egg/embryo feezing. The toughest decision we have to make so far in our 13 years together. I've been strong(ish) since i was diagnosed but last night i broke down and cry. We are supposed to go through our IVF treatment ( received dates and all) but found out i have cancer 2 weeks before procedure :(

I am sorry to hear this,  cancer has such a ripple effect. This forum has been a god send to me, everyone on here are immensely supportive.....I wish you well on your journey......and I echo your thanks to sandra123 for creating this thread......xxxx

Should see the oncologist in the next couple of weeks meanwhile I am taking the meds for the other one. I have complete faith in my doctors so feel quite upbeat. There is some talk of having a new targeted treatment for the second one.

Lass we could b lump twins... I too had 2 lumps  but different too 1 lobular and 1 ductal both invasive.

it sounds like the main difference is the size of one of yrs. you are right I too was very lucky as mine was found on mammogram- couldn’t feel lump, no pain, no visible changes....but there.

i went from the 1st recall ultrasound into the breast care nurses room nd looked her in the eye nd said.... I want a mastectomy ( only been told they were confident to say before biopsy results that we were looking at a cancer diagnosis 2mins before). I had no qualms whatsoever to have s mastectomy ( there nd then would have been my preference tbh.... I just wanted the cancer out done and dusted). 

Then....wk later I met the consultant who said happy t do mastectomy but.... should we explore other options first and then we will do whatever u choose. After all the facts etc- I chose lumpectomy. 

Now... that was me. It sounds like you are coming to terms with the possibility of a mastectomy...which sounds as good a place as any to start the thought process. As you say listen to what the oncologist has to say and come to any decisions together about the treatment you choose. 

I think I have mentioned before the lovely lady who had her lumpectomy same time as me..... she had been on the meds for a yr to reduce the size of her lump before op too. I recall her vividly saying ...I just want it out. I totally got where she was coming from. I know you too will just want it out..... you will meet the oncologist soon lass then the how can be finalised. 

You are will versed in the wait drill.... it’s sll about u. What u fancy doing not what u need to do. Sleep if u choose or climb a mountain if that takes ya fancy :-)

Hello, I had. Good news today, they had clear margins on the tumour and clear lymph node....yippee! Still another wait to see oncologist to see if ( or not ) chemo is needed......not out of the woods yet but I can see the clearing.....Boxing gloves on and ready to fight..... hope all good with you lovely lady and thank you for your support xxx

Garden room won’t be finished yet awhile but when it us I’ll post some pics with the new pond as well. I’ve treated myself to a new suite for the lounge so my old (not so) leather recliners are going down there. Got to sit in luxury. It should be up and running by the start of spring months. Can’t wauut to sit in there and look at the garden. :-)

good :- no child care to do so. Duvet day. I’m dressed but gonna watch tv on bed. Crafty day for me nd can spread everything around me on bed lol. Got delivery coming so brought door bell upstairs so don’t miss em ( love that I can move door bell around particularly in summer and I’m in the garden - put it in conservatory..... but oh my it is the most miserable, wingy, whiney sounding bell I’ve ever heard- it has a ..whatever mannnn..sound like a sulky teenager telling me someone is at the door. Lol

anyone ever done decoupage... fancy going all Fahrenheit 451 but instead of burning books tearing em up to decoupage some eggs for my Easter tree.... not sure if should use polystyrene or plastic eggs of if it makes no diff lol. #retirementproblems

Ah honestly you will love it sundial. Exactly what I did ... new suite in sitting room nd old one in conservatory. U are right if it’s comfortable it will get used.... lots :-) 

are u getting electrics in it? The lil ones have a play house... son in law asked daughter when he built it.... do u want electrics in it ....no.... are u sure..... yes.... last chance... no. Then the winter came.... can we put electrics in for light nd heating lol. She’s a woman her prerogative gets used all year round tho. X
