Hi, is there anyone on this tablet at the moment?
Hi my chemo had been reduced on my 4th cycle but even so not helped me as I would of been on my 5th when I stopped last week. Hope yours goes ok xx
Loperamide is a diarrhoea stopping medication and it is very effective and taken properly will stop this within hours and also stop the pain. You probably need your fluids checked too if you have had this a while - it can be dangerous if ignored.
I found the hand and foot problems difficult on capecitabine but must say it was an effective drug. Love to Sings dosage is quite high and I think I went down to 1500mg x 2 a day in the end so I could tolerate it.
Good luck - I know what a worry these things can be x
Hi, actually just checked yes I've been taking that too. Does work although still going to the loo. Every time I get checked at hospital with bloods, they come back fine. I do drink water all day, my salt levels and vitamins are low too but have tablets for that. have notice since being off tablets my hands aren't peeling as much although very dry. Would be amazing if we could be normal xx
Gosh wouldn't that be fantastic! Glad you have loperamide but I am not sure you are taking it properly because it will definitely halt things with help - why not give your cancer nurse a quick call? I was told it was ok to take 2 straight after an episode and another 2 if more followed. After that just one!! It really works well but you just need some medical advise from a professional who is dealing with your case. Try and sort it for the weekend x
Yeah I know it was very hard for my mam with the constant trips to toilet, like the others have said the Loperamide can help, my mam hated any tablets full stop, she was prescribed them but wouldn't take them, it was always on a morning when she would be rushing to the loo, you need to stay hydrated, drink plenty of water, my mam used to drink green tea, full of anti oxidants, and she swore by manuka honey, I can say the whole time through out her illness, her bloods were always ok, she never had any delayed chemo due to low blood counts or any infections

Hello.. sorry not to reply to thread I started.. I guess I've been very lucky (funny thing to say I know).. I've been on tablets for two and a half years and not had any major problems. . Red hands and dry feet. But I cream every day - two or three times sometimes depends on weather. . Hope all tummy problems mentioned above have been sorted..
I'm about to have cycle 35 and hope to have loads more.
Hugs to everyone x
MoragL you inspire me! I hope I get good mileage on the drug too! I hear there's a lady in Aberdeen who has been on it for 14 years - please let that be us!
Fingers crossed for everyone. .We have to stay positive and get up and fight everyday... xx
