Had really bad news today. I have extensive spread in nodes and the cancer has also metastasized to my brain. Gosh this is scary - hubby and I are numb! X
Hi Max, good to hear from you and also pleased to hear that efforts are being made to offer you treatments that will help you to continue to have quality of life. I will certainly join you in prayer that they give you the treatment in record time and that it does the trick. I must make a note of that drug you were on in case it lands in my medicine cabinet at some point. I always like to be prepared.
When I read your sentence about giving up your driver's licence, my heart sank for you. As far as feeling sorry for yourself, you have earned the right. I know that losing that just adds another challenge to this fight and a loss of independence. That would, (and might someday) be for me a major blow as I really value my independence. I can relate dear friend.
Keep us posted on how things develop for you and also if you need to rant and shout, we're here to listen. Better us than your poor hubby wearing it. LOL
Keeping you in my thoughts and hope the Cyberknife can be agreed for you when your next appointment comes round. You are one plucky lady and deserve to spend as much time with the family as you are able.
I don't drive but know hubby did not like being unable to use his car but spending time with the family and being comfortable with your ongoing treatment options is enough to be going on with. He also had 'spaced out' reaction early on in treatment with co-codomol and was switched off it within a few days when he reported back to his 'support team' though my daughter had no such problems when used in relation to a bad back - like so many drugs, good for some and not for others.

My Mum had exactly the same reaction as you to the high dosage Co-Codamol – they put her on something else and the side effects disappeared. My brother and I were on the same ones for slipped disks without side effects, so I guess you have been unlucky.
