Hi. It looks like this discussion thread has been going a long time and i hope i will be able to join the community here. I was diagnosed with breast cancer just after xmas and have had a mastectomy last week. I have a secondary tumor in my hip and possibly in my head so will have to face chemo and radiotherapy although I dont know the details as yet. I would love to make friends on here who i can both support and find support from on this journey. I have 2 grown up children and they have surprised me recently as to how supportive they can be. It certainly is a case of role reversal in my house. Chassis x x
Hi Chassis
Welcome to the place no-one wants to be.Hope you are coping with the mastectomy and glad to see you have support at home.I had mastectomy 4 years ago and have recurrance in the lymph glands in my neck and chest .I have been on chemo for 2 years to contain it and like you have 2 grown up children and 3 grandchildren ,so plenty of reasons to fight on.Hope you have a good medical team looking after you. What part of the world do you live in?We are a well scattered lot on here.
Stay strong.

Wahoo!

Hello Ladies and Gents
Firstly I would like to say sorry for not being on lately but I have been so busy at work and then so shattered when I get home I drop into bed. I have been keeping up with all the posts though and some are so sad I find it hard to believe their is a God in this world. My thoughts are with you and you know who you are.
Caroline I was so pleased to see your post about going out, like I said to you brush yourself down and go for it. How did it all go and when is the next outing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tony am so glad I am back reading your posts you always have so many words of wisdom, we all oew you so much
Well I have some news, I had a CT Scan this week and the results came in today, all is clear, nothing showing in my lungs, heart, bones etc so now I will have to keep my fingers crossed. I have another mamogram on the 16th Feb as you do and then I have my consultant on the 17th Feb, am asking for a second opinion for my reconstruction as the plastic surgeon I saw wants to do a tummy tuck and reconstruction at the same time using fat from my stomach for my boobs. Well my oncologist was not very happy when I told him about this so he is arranging for me to see someone else.
Well all you lovely people I must stop now as I am at work and want to get home so I may celebrate with a very nice Vodka and Diet Coke lol
Have a great weekend
Love to you all
Littlesis (Linda)
Hey Shents, nearly cried when I read your good news. Its' the waiting to know time that is so hard wondering and worrying about the results, I am so pleased for you that they were clear.
Just wanted to sign in and see how everyone was doing, Ive been lucky and been pretty good on the chemo but oh my - the chemo brain. I forget what i am doing, and what i am writing and everything seems to be done or spoken in double dutch or in a back to front fashion. So if any of my posts have been a bit weird or not made much sense - you know why! No apologies, there are times you can use it to your advantage - like when you say something you shouldn't !
love to all

lil sis, you are doing so well, wondered how you had been. What a lovely day it was today, i cleaned all my windows and nets in the sunny breeze and felt heaps better. As I said before, spring is on its way!

Hello Everyone
Alot can happen in a couple of weeks hey? Good and bad, but what a wonderful support this group is.
I was so saddened to hear some of the news and then gladdened to hear other news. Life is so up and down.
I would just like to share with you that I am feeling really good now, so to anyone who has just joined this group there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I went to my first Pilates class on Wednesday night and when I got home I said to my hubby - did the last 8 months really happen? I feel so good I cannot believe I was ever that ill. I know I have a long way to go but at the moment it is so nice to feel normal.
Thanks for all the meassages that you have all written on here because it does help.
To all of you waiting for results I am thinking about you and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love
Anne

Hi Lonie,
Still plodding on thanks.Picking up slowly since December but no muscles and still trying to put that 1 1/2 stone back on,crazy for a lifelong dieter but feeling better .Scan in 2 weeks to see how this chemo is doing but saw the heart doctor last week and things are OK there now Ive changed treatment.Lots of people fighting my corner and trying hard to keep me here.Looking forward to some warmer weather soon.
Hope your strength comes back soon, you have had such a tough time. Its murder when your mind feels you want to do things and your body doesnt back it up.I cant imagine how on earth you cope with children to see to as well.If I had a hat I would take it off to you.
Always lovely to hear from you,we go back a long way and thankfully it keeps getting longer
Stay safe
Love Rose xxxx
Hi guys thanx for replying, I phoned breast nurse who spoke to oncologist who said I had to remember what my body has been through and that it's expected to have bone pain and especially my back as it's the weakest point. Anyway went to gym for a swim today and feel good. Shents that's amazing news for you, good luck Tony and love to all xx
