    Hi Karenk,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, plus a few false alarms, so I have been through a number of biopsies. All I can say, is that the wait never gets any easier. Most of us would say that this is one of the worst parts of our cancer journey, as thereare so many unknowns and uncertainties.

I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait. Try to keep yourself occupied with other distractions to help the time to pass a little quicker over the weekend.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi just joined this site reading different comments such an agonising wait for results I'm awaiting my appointment to see if my treatment has worked you feel so lonely at this moment hope all works out for you hang on in there my love thoughts are with you

  • Hi Lisa... so glad that you have a little clarity. Been thinking of you all day...  it is such a hard thing to go through  . I am sure I will be same Wednesday I will either cry or feel sick I think...keeping fingers crossed for a positive result. Lots of love and hugs ️ Rosie.  And also Thankyou too it has been a godsend having you ladies to chat to.  Will be forever grateful Rosie xxx

  • Hello everyone,

I've had my results. Got called in a room with 2 people and instantly fell apart fearing the worst. But it's positive news so far. They didn't find any cancer in my biopsy. They'd like to do a second biopsy (vacuum biopsy) to double check some more tissue. I'm having that done this Thursday and will get the results via telephone on 1st November.

She said worst case scenario is that there are pre cancerous cells present and they will just remove it in the form of a lumpectomy.

Feeling very lucky right now ️

  • Hi Lisa, So sorry your results were delayed but glad you have some clarity and it sounds like you have reason to be optimistic. I really hope you hear soon and it's good news!

R‍osie, Karen, thank you for your good wishes! One more sleep for me. Not sure how I've got through the last week but somehow I did (though I'm having a major wobble tonight!). Thank you for thinking of me, I shall update you tomorrow.

[@Lucy37]‍ How did you get on today? Hope you're ok!

Love to all you amazing ladies on this thread. I'm thinking of you all!

    Jenny xxxx

  • Hi Lucy

So happy to hear your positive news.  You must be so relieved.  It will be even more reassuring to have  extra confirmation from the next biopsy.

Lisa, sorry to hear your full results were delayed but glad to hear that you have more clarity xx

  • Hi Jenny.

Lots of luck for tomorrow.  I will be thinking of you.

I spoke to the breast care nurses this morning as felt so in limbo since leaving my appointment on Tuesday.  They said that the score from the mammogram was a 5 so very likely cancer.  So I am sure I am going Thursday for clarification and hopefully treatment plan.   Never  felt so sick.

    Nikki xx

  • Thanks Nikki! Im in the same boat. I also called my nurse a couple of days after my biopsies to ask what the situation was. I think I was in shock on the day and only remember people acting/talking as if it was cancer, but no-one actually telling me! But she said it was 99% certain so tomorrow I'm sure it'll just be confirmed and hopefully a treatment plan put in place. I just want to get on with whatever needs doing!

Lucy, I missed your post earlier. I'm so happy for you! It's lovely to hear some positive news amidst all the fear and stress!

  • I didn't realise we were so similar.  Is quite disheartening isn't it.  I am so anxious thinking that any twinge or pain elsewhere is it spreading! I really just want to know what's what and get on with getting rid of it . If it is the news we are expecting, then at least we have the support of each other and the rest of the amazing women on this site. What a godsend this has been.

Sending positive thoughts for tomorrow xx

  • Well done Nikki for being brave enough to call for more information. I'm sorry about your score, but that's news to me, I was just told cancer and no-one mentioned a score before that stereotactic biopsy under mammogram I had last week. I didn't even know they scored the mammograms, so we're all learning here.

To everyone on this site waiting, thanks for sharing and Hopefully you'll get results/treatment plans soon and continue to support each other on this journey - take care Mickey x

  • I feel so relieved. Not totally out the woods but it's definitely positive. To hear 'we didn't find any cancer' was amazing. I felt like I could breathe for the first time in a month. Hopefully the vacuum biopsy is clear but if it's not, she said it very early days and will just be a simple lumpectomy xx

  • That's such great news Lucy, so lovely to hear  xx fingers crossed for the other biopsies and I hope you get that appointment soon x
