New diagnosis of lobular breast cancer

Newly diagnosed with lobular breast cancer and due to have lumpectomy surgery in august. I am 34 with no children and concerned about how hormone therapy will impact my fertility. Anyone going through or been through something similar? I am feeling overwhelmed at the moment and isolating myself from others, I just feel so tired with no motivation to do anything. How do people keep going after a cancer diognosis?

I had a mastectomy on the 20th August had drain removed 12 days after went back to the hospital this Thursday for my results the good news is that the lymph nodes are clear but the tumour which I was told were 3 they think are 2 from the histology and as it is larger than they thought they have sent this to America for a new test they do to see if I will need chemotherapy they are also putting me on Letrozole. How are you doing? x

Nice to jear from you HetA. Thats great your lymph are clear.

I am in a similar position. 4 clear lymph nodes and waiting on the oncotype testing to see if chemo would be beneficial or not. Will definitely be having radiotherapy and then the hormone therapy. I have also started IVF therapy on Wednesday as I dont have children, so, going to freeze some eggs.

    How are your wounds healing?

    All the best

I still have strips across the front of my breast they haven’t been taken off I was told on Thursday wait till they start peeling off themselves. I had a reconstruction and I have to say it looks good slight pain at times but not  too bad. I have been given the prescription for the hormone therapy.
i don’t need the IVF as i have children but wish you all the best for that. Keep in touch to let me know how you are doing

    love Het x
