Diagnosed with TNBC - does anyone have the same diagnosis? Looking for support

Hey everyone. I’ve just been diagnosed with TNBC - invasive ductal carcinoma, stage 3. I’m 48, and found a lump around 5 weeks ago. I’m feeling absolutely overwhelmed and really just wanted to come on here to say hi, and to see if I can find anyone else in the same boat where we can potentially support each other through this. I’m now waiting on a full body CT scan, and will start with chemo initially in the next couple of weeks. They’ve said this will likely be six rounds, every three weeks, followed by surgery.

  • I have sent a friend request. Maybe I can send a private message?  Not too sure how this works

  • I haven’t had my CT results, but I was sent for MRI scan days after CT scan, it’s on the MRI they found early start of nodules. So second ultrasound scan is booked for a week this Monday 1st June. Must admit it has me worried, but my sensible head is they have said they are nodules nor tumors, so hoping it’s as a result of biopsy as the nurse said this is possible.

Since finding out about my diagnosis I know a few people who I have worked with have either gone through it or just gone through it this year. It helps to speak to others on here, as it’s happening now.

I hope your scans go ok, I looked at it as checking and hoped for the best. I won’t lie, it’s was scary and I am glad I know now. I need the treatment for my tumour on the left said so hopefully the treatment plan they chose won’t change too much finding there nodules. I go this Tuesday to my first oncology appointment.

Try to stay positive and focused, this is what I am focusing on too. I have had my gran and aunt go through this. My gran was in 2003 she had a mastectomy one side with lymph nodes removed, she had radiotherapy and she went through this age 71. She lived a further 7 years and did not pass with cancer. My Aunt was 68 when diagnosed and she has had the all clear after having a lumpectomy and radiotherapy and she is now 72 and been given the all clear.  I am you ginger than them age 56. So I have felt why me and why so young. Reality is why not me and I am older than some. So I am trying my best to focus on getting better for my hubby and kids who are school age still 12 and 14. I have my moments too, and then someone reminds me with out knowing what’s going through my thoughts and it pulls me around. I with you on this and here if you need a chat. I am a bit of a worrier and do need that talk your doing well etc, so perhaps we can help each other out. We can be brave together. X
