Huge lump in breast

So I'm waiting for my appointment next week but the days are dragging....

I know you can't give a diagnosis but has anyone had anything similar??

found a lump 2 weeks ago, about the size of a walnut. Hard not painful. Had just come out of hospital (knee surgery so not related) so finally went to the doctors who referred me.
As it took a few days to get an appointment at the docs the skin changed by the time I saw him. It's thickened like orange peel.
now a 5 days later, the lump is growing by the day. It's now the size of a huge lemon. There's also one in my armpit. I also have a dull ache in my back!

Anyone had anything similar??

Also, what happens at your first appointment, I'm sure she said on the phone, no tests just seeing a doctor or specialist

thanks

  • Hello,

so the doctor had referred you to the breast clinic? While there you will first go in for a chat with the consultant where they will examine you....then very likely they will send you off to get a mammogram and possibly then an ultrasound. It's a very slick process.

I wonder if it's worth ringing your GP to air your worries ref the changing symptoms? The referral will be two weeks from your initial appointment so hopefully not too much longer to wait...

good luck....let us know how you get on? Xx

  • Hi

    Thanks for replying.
Yes, I'm referred to the breast clinic at hospital and it's within 2 weeks so I'm lucky, it just seems a long wait with rapid changes whilst waiting.

I'll call my GP, see what he says.
OK, so hopefully they'll do tests and I'll get more info (only 6 days to wait!)

    Hope you're doing ok

    thanks xx
