Urgent referral help

I have been looking on line for the urgent referral department at local hospital. The only thing that comes up is the  Macmillan help line.

  • Hello

    I haven't spoke with you.

But all the best to you x

  • Hi,

I didnt realise I posted to the wrong person.

  • Well you were on a 2 week referral so that's probably why your hearing from the consultant quickly as well. Just remember it does not mean cancer, it could be anything. Like me having PBC, there are all sorts of non serious conditions we dont know exist!

It's good to talk to people going through similar things, I found this forum really helpful and like to be able to give that support back if i can xx

  • You didn't.. Sorry I pushed in to say all the best.

    Im awful with technolgy. X

  • Hi,

Thank you so much but I don't fear it being cancer.

My diagnosis is a hemangioma near the hepatic vein that needs to be monitored and he will see me in 3 mths.

I already know Its not in a good place.

I am wondering why my consultant needs to speak with me, when the head radiologist for the scan /x-ray department already gave me my results.

I am, maybe unjustly, a little concerned.

    xx

  • Thank you so much,

You were not pushing in at all. Thank you so much for responding

I really appreciate your support and help

    Xx

  • As hes your consultant, he may be required to speak with you. It may also include future management in more detail.

  • Yes thank you,

That makes sense and I'm sure now, that may be the case.

    I will keep you posted.

    Have a good night. xx

  • Hello,

I hope your weekend is going well.

I had my colonoscopy this morning under sedation. The pain was horrendous. I couldn't believe how it felt.

It was less painful without sedation the 1st time. That pain was enough for me to be sedated this time. But it didn't help.

wWhen the Dr came to talk to me, he informed me that I was having  the colonoscopy today as I have been suffering stomach pain and I have enlarged lymph nodes near my lungs.

Which were seen on the last scan I had which was a specialised scan.

Before my appointment I didnt have a consultation, so to hear I have enlarged nodes came as a complete shock!

Of course I had a conversation with him before my proceedure. He was surprised I wasn't made aware

I was having this procedure to rule out cancer or any other nasties.

Now I have to wait 2-6 weeks for the results.

I am scheduled to have a phone consult this Tuesday. I am hoping I get some clear answers as to what is happening

    How are you?

    xx

  • Oh I'm so sorry to hear you had.an awful time today, having more pain with a sedation is terrible, maybe it's just the way it was done.

This lack of communication about what they find and dont tell you really is wrong, as if you weren't stressed enough having the procedure to be told that beforehand is awful.

Theres so many things I want to question from my clinic letter, like inflamed liver lymph nodes, and aorta lymph nodes (that being my heart!). My consultant said they think an infection caused all of this, but they cant seem to tell me 'what the infection was', and the only imaging I'm having again in nov/dec is a liver MRI so how will they know if the inflammed aorta lymph nodes has gone down!? A question I must write down to ask my consultant at my next outpatient appt in dec, ages away.

My advise to you is to write down any questions you have, if you dont understand something ask.

I have blood tests at my gp this Tue, I dont even know what they are testing!

Dont they realise this lack of information causes so much stress and anxiety.

Are you feeling more comfortable now? Does the procedure make you sore.
