I have been looking on line for the urgent referral department at local hospital. The only thing that comes up is the Macmillan help line.

Good luck. I hope you can find out more information xx
Thank you so much for being kind enough to help and shed some light.

Hi,
I got through to my consultants actual secretary this morning.
She is very surprised that I have not had my urgently booked endoscopy.
Apparently my consultant is waiting for the results of the CT & the endoscopy before calling me.
She personally went to the department to speed them up as they have not answered the two emails sent by herself re my proceedure, some weeks ago.
She will be speaking to the managers from both departments.
If I have not heard anything from the department by tomorrow , I am to phone her.
My CT scan has been looked at and the report written up.
I will update you as to what happens next.
Thank you Mini1 xx
Glad you got more info, think its common they wait for all results before updating you. Sounds like its being sorted now, good that your consultant was planning to ring you, I had no feedback at all, 2 weeks I was waiting, I requested an outpatient appt to discuss their findings, would prefer face to face, but this can be up to 2 months!
One word on the endoscopy, I was scared of having this done. I had a sedation, they put a little guard over my teeth, next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery, didnt feel, remember a thing.
Seems a shame we have to chase results up, we are stressed enough!
Hi flower5757
Thank you for your response.
I had an endoscopy 6 years ago. Wish I was given the option of sedation. It was quite uncomfortable in parts.
I am glad that I am feeling closer to getting answers.
It looks like it's the 'long game when it should have been a much quicker turn around on the 14 day urgent pathway to rule out cancer.
The NHS is so overstretched, I guess this is bound to happen to some of us...
I hope you have the option of sedation this time. Yes they are busy, keep in touch xx
Hi flower5757
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.
I had my phone consultation as arranged. My CT scan came back clear for cancer, I am so relieved.
The radiologist wanted a second ultrasound scan as he wasn't happy with the fist one I had, done in the community.
The 2nd scan showed a sizable ulcer and smaller ones scattered on the surface.
The dark mass isn't 5cm x 5cm. It isn't measurable in that sense as it is throughout my liver. Could be fatty liver.
I have to have a MRI scan to get a more detailed look as to what it is.
I hope all is well with you.
That's great news, pleased for you. Hopefully they will be able to keep an eye on what is going on.
Well I had my outpatient appt last week, I do have a 2cm mass but they have said it's not cancer and I asked could it turn malignant and they seem confident it wont. They believe its caused by an infection and maybe PBC, and its cystic. I do have a condition called PBC (Primary Billary Cholongitis), an autoimmune liver condition, where my body attacks good cells, I'm on a medication for life now that will hopefully stop that happening, worse case scenario is medication didnt work I would need a liver transplant, blimey. But it's a slow progression disease, and mine is prob stage 1 as I have a good soft liver with no scarring. So I be under Hepatology forever with regular MRI with my next one 2/3 months time.
Have you had an MRI before. I had one with contrast a month ago.
Good morning,
I am pleased for you that your results have come back as non cancer.
Sorry to know you have been diagnosed with a condition. But it's good that it's treatatable and hopefully continues to be.
There is nothing worse than knowing you are unwell or that something isn't right but there are no answers.
All the best for your next and following appointments.
I will keep you updated. x
Yes please do. Hope your appointments go well x
