Bleeding from vagina after a bowel movement!

Hi all. I am looking for advice as I am freaking out. Quick background - 30 year old female, mother of 2. (Youngest is 2 years old) both delivered by emergency c section. No previous medical conditions. I last had a smear test done in January 2020 and result came back normal. For the last 6 months or so my periods have been Irregular and most recently I have been spotting a lot in between periods. I have also discovered the connection that every time I have a bowel movement I bleed from my vagina!! I can't find any other explanation for this other than cervical cancer! Anyone experienced this?? TIA!

  • Hi! I stumbled across this post looking for advice, as I wondered whether anyone else had experienced this. Fills me with hope to see that I am not on my own.

So sorry that this is happening to all you other ladies and hope you all get an answer

Mine started only a few days ago after a bowel movement and it frightened me when I looked down and saw the bleeding, as this has never happened before. Had another bowel movement last night, and there it was again just as I thought it was clearing up.

I have booked an appointment with my GP today, so fingers crossed they can give me some answers.

Really appreciate seeing all of your posts!

  • Hi

Just wondering how you got. I'm having the same problem. Has only happened over the last week. Not sure how worried to be.
    Thanks x

  • Hi all,

i have experienced the same over the past three days. I have been struggling with severe constipation over the last 3 months and then this week this started happening. I'm terrified of going to the loo, and my lower abdomen is quite bloated. I'm going to A&E in the am but I'm just so scared this is something serious.
Good luck to you all and let's keep each other posted.

  • Hi teagirlzz,

I had an appointment with my GP who advised I needed bloods, swabs and an ultrasound scan.

They did my bloods and swabs last week, so waiting for the results to come back. Still waiting for my ultrasound appointment to come through ... GP said there is a waiting list so not sure when I will be seen for that.

I'd get an appointment with your GP if you are worried, just so they can check you over :)

    Hope everything's okay x

  • Hi msworried,

    Hope everything is okay.

Did you manage to go to A&E?
