I get this a lot around my periods!

It might be how I realise I've started or I'll think I've finished and then I'll go for a poo and "hello!" not finished just yet!

I just put it down to the fact it's all in the same area it's bound to have an effect on one another. Same way I get constipated around my periods or the dreadful "period poos ".

I can't say I've ever mentioned it to a dr or anything.

I had my smear recently and have abnormal cells (very common and rarely turn into cancer). Should be having another appointment in the next 4-6 weeks. I'll try and remember to ask!

Hi, hope you have found out the cause of this, I had the same thing and turned out I had a polyp on cervix, after treatment the bleeding stopped 

Hello I went for a smear on Friday which was well overdue, they found what she thought was pollops or vaginal erosion and sent me on a 2 week referral, I'm worried sick, I've just strained to have a bowel movement and have had bleeding from the vagina, I've had stomach ache like a period pain, I have gone through my menopause, I'm so worried I can't eat or sleep

I'm so sorry you are having such a worrying time. I am going through exactly the same.

I too am post menopausal.  I started bleeding 3-4 weeks ago and it does seem to stop.  It goes from brown to red to brown to red again..  opening my bowels always starts it off with red blood again.  I also have symptoms of a bloated belly,constipation,  wind and nausea.  Also period like pain. I went to my gp last Thursday who referred me to the 2ww gynae clinic.  My gp looked quite alarmed when I told her of the bleeding when opening bowels. She said she also notice a slight fullness on my left side of my pelvis? One week on and there has been a mix up with the referral..  I am so stressed and just want to get my scan done so I know what's what.  I'm hoping it's a polyp and nothing like ovarian cancer as my gp suggested ruling out as I have a strong family history of gynae and breast cancer.

sorry to hear you are going through the same thing,  the waiting is horrible isn't it, could you please let me know when you have been to gynaecology, I will keep you updated, as you say hopefully it's a pollop as they can cause bleeding and pain, all the best for your appointment x

Hi sorry for not replying sooner, but I ended waiting in a&e for 4 hrs last night as my symptoms worsened.   I had red bleeding with large clots after going to the toilet and period like pain.. the gynae consultant was happy with my bloods being normal and normal obs as it meant I wasn't bleeding out .. He has made me an appt for the Rapid Gynae Clinic on Friday for a scan.   Seems forever away!   I will let you what the outcome is and yes, please let me know how you get on .  Good luck x

I so sorry to hear this you must have been frightened to death, one good things your bloods were ok, at least your being seen now in a couple of days, good luck and hope everything goes ok, x

Hi.   Just an update . I saw the Gynae consultant and had an scan.  Cons showed me an abnormal area and said probably polyp but unable to tell with a scan if thickening is a polyp or endometrial cancer so has referred me for a hysteroscopy .. I have the appt on Wednesday.    He said if it is a polyp they will remove it and send off for testing.  If not they'll take a biopsy anyway.   He told me Polyps are normally benign or if it is anything more sinister , then it is very treatable.  
I'm really nervous about Wednesday , but I'm pleased they got me in so soon.

Hello, I had my smear results back on Thursday they came back with no hpv virus so meant no cancer, she asked me to go and see her because I'm still in pain, she said she could see what the nurse had seen on my cervix and now there was an infection there, she said she needed to chase up coloscopy as a matter of urgency (I go tomorrow) I can't understand that I've had a clear smear but she's concerned I have something sinister, she looked at me and said it is treatable, I'm worrying my self sick,

Well that a very good positive result if your smear was all clear.   Are they treating you for an infection.  Have you been referred for a ultrasound scan as well as the colposcopy.  
It is so worrying waiting isn't it.  But we've both been given early appts which is a blessing.
