Right sided bowel cancer

I have read all your posts about the right sided pain just under the rib. Its a dull ache, sometimes and not often a sharp short quick pain, sometimes its a soreness, its really weird. I have always had this acheness but very rarly. Since lockdown its increased. Its not a pain by which i need a pain killer but i think the fear of the unknown is whats more dangerous for us who want to know. I had the normal scan of the area which showed nothing was wrong. I had a stool test showing nothing as far as Blood or elivated anything or abnormal. The blood tests were also fine[ apart from slightly elivated cholestrol. ] Then the Gastro said to do a Colonoscopy which i am afraid of doing so want to ask for a MRI. I just cant get my head around having one, although i guess if i am cornered i will.

I even went to a local Naturalpath and had a diagnosis from a Bioresonance procedure which involves frequency diagnosis for all who believe and it showed i must be allergic to gluten wheat and milk. [ Which is all foods i love to eat] . I must say i have no real constipation issues as in been stuck for a long time but when i do go they are mostly formed. On occassions i will get a bout of looseness with loads of wind and quite explosive. To be true thats not unusual for me . No sick feeling at all either.

I was thinking to look into the FOD MAP diet and see if that will help. I dont know about u all but i have this idea that this pain will explode inside and i have left it for too long and feel bad to be so afraid. Its a lousy feeling . I hope you all manage to find a way to feel better and please do share how u have recovered please  regards  xxxx

  • Hi chris677.

I'm not a doctor and I have no medical qualifications; however, I've been an IBS sufferer for the last 40+ years, being first diagnosed in my early 20s.  A couple of years ago I went through the FODMAP diet protocol and it identified my particular trigger foods.

Unfortunately, no doctor should diagnose you with IBS until cancer has been eliminated as a possibility.  You really should think about the colonoscopy.  Both my wife and I have had them, and they were fine.  There is really nothing in what you've written to indicate you've got cancer, but the colonoscopy will make sure.  Once you've had that possibility eliminated, (and assuming your diagnosis is IBS) then your doctor can make the necessary referral to someone who can help you through the FODMAP process.  Note that it's so difficult you really can't negotiate your own way through it without professional help.

  • Thank u for your reply.

    I really appreciate it.

I was looking into a whole body scan , to avoid this procedure. Its all mind over matter .

Surley if a cancer is there causing this discomfort it would be seen . ANyway i am grateful for the feedback .

    Thank you

    Chriso

  • The problem with any scan is that it can't see everything.  For instance, an ultrasound of the bladder might not see a small bladder cancer, but a cystoscopy will see it immediately.  That's why specialist uses different forms of scanner for different cancer types, instead of relying on just ultrasound.

  • You sound worried about a something that will involve, at most, 36 hours of your life including time to take bowel prep and have the actual procedure (for which mild anaesthetic is available).  For me that 36 hours is less time than you're currently spending worrying about the procedure itself and the possible outcome.  I don't know you or your other circumstances so can only say if it was me, I'd be booking that colonoscopy!

  • Thank you . Your right
