Worried I have lymphoma

My dad died from lymphoma over 6 years ago. I'm currently waiting to see ENT as an urgent referral from my GP. Should be within two weeks from 6th May but who knows with covid. Symptoms started two months ago. Fatigue, low grade temps up to 38 and enlarged neck glands. Blood tests normal except for showing low iron. I'm on meds for that now. They ran an inflammation test. Normal. So now I'm waiting to be seen. I've not lost weight. Still have a good appetite but for two months I'm still getting low grade temps and enlarged neck glands. They don't hurt to touch but my neck can feel achey. Has anyone with lymphoma ever started out with similar symptoms?

  • My temp has been up and down the last week. Still not feeling great but the temp hasn't been so persistent as it was for the last few days. Hoping it will soon start to go. I still feel really fatigued with it xx

  • Hello

I hope you are doing better. Quick update, i just seen my gp today but not happy with the result might need to speak to a different one. She basically said that i dont have a temperature but she was barely touch my ears. She compared the two termometers mine and hers and said mine is a few degrees higher. I tried to get her to put the termometer deeper and it did show a bit more like 37.9 but still she said that the many times she took it, it was fine with hers and said to stop taking my temperature. I have complained of pain on my right side under rib and shes seding me for a ultrasound abdomen and that is all.

  • I know i have a temperature because even her termometer was showing 37.6/4. She said ni swollen lynph nodes and that i am fine...

argh i dont know what else to do...

    how hve you been?
    xx

  • Hi, the way you can also compare your temp is by taking yours and using your thermometer on someone else in your house. For example my daughter showed 36.7 today whereas mine was 37.6. My temp is not so consistently high now but I still don't feel great and fatigued easily. Can you ask your gp for an antibody test for covid? Only because so many people who have  had covid test negative but it will show up in the antibody test. That way you could rule that out or know if that is in fact what you have been suffering from like me x

  • Yes i checked my husbands too and his one is usually 36.9 and mine 37.6 So it cannot be broken and inaccurate. Go was getting a lower reading i think because she was barely touching my ear... she said no lymph nodes swollen. I try and call next week and get to speak to a different doctor. Also is your temp still going up when busy walking around and doing stuff? Mine still goes up to about 37.8...

    xx

  • Hello how are you? How have you been? Is your temperature still spiking? Mine still does while active if not then it stays at 37.6.. xx

  • Hi, sorry to hear you still feel unwell. My temp has been lower last week but today it went up again and I feel exhausted and have been sleeping and resting. Just no energy. It's so frustrating. This keeps happening. Think I'm getting better then I crash again. I'm hoping this is just the dregs of a virus now. Xx

  • Did they tell you from the hospital if it is because of Covid.. how long these symptoms will last?  Xx

  • They said they didn't know but that it could go on for a while potentially x

  • Hello how are you? How has you temp been? Mine has been fine yday around 37.2/4 and now today again is been gping up. Spoke to gp yday and said to stop worring and to stop taking my temperature as all blood tests came back fine. Im waiting on a ultrasound as i was having pain on my right side under ribs and she checks for gallstones.

Hope all this can get better for both of us although i find it hard to trust gps

    xx
