Hi redcollector, my prostate Cancer went to lymph nodes, spine, ribs, pelvis and a lung. Was diagnosed Feb 2016 psa 1581 stage 4. Palliative care. On permanent hormone therapy and cemotherapy when neaded living normal life.. If i can help in any way please let me know.... Billy
Hi Billy, I am sorry to hear of your position.
As per my question I am assuming you weren't diagnosed until it had spread?
If that was the case did you not have any previous psa tests?
I am asking as my cousin also didn't get diagnosed until it had spread, unfortunately he has passed away now, so I can't ask him any questions about his symptoms.
i am currently suffering from muscle weakness in my legs with right hip pain but have not been diagnosed with PC, but cos of my cousins experience am quite worried and have that in my mind. Probably wrong of me to think that but have had urine flow issues for a few years and been diagnosed with enlarged prostate, hence my thinking.
thanks
Also meant to ask along the same lines really what were your spine and pelvis symptoms ?
thanks
Had no symptoms at all, odd bit of lower back pain but i was working heavy metal welding and fab and had couple of trapped nerves , i actually started being sick quite regularly turned out to be a hernia but blood test showed something wrong then psa test, then scans and biopsy to confirm lots of people don't feel ill at all that's why tests at certain age......... Billy
Hi thanks for your reply, do you mind me asking what age you are? Also did you not get regular psa tests prior to diagnosis
thanks
I was 64 when diagnosed, i kept being sick kept having tests turned out to be hurnia one of the tests showed something wrong then psa test, that was first one I'm now 68 born in June... Billy
Hi, I am 65 now so it's around the dangerous time.
i am really surprised you didn't have regular psa tests prior to you be Being so ill.
it sound like you are struggling with your illness but keeping a positive mind.
thanks
Hi red, my cancer is controlled and OK I've other med conditions which are problems now and again. Also my darling wife has just been diagnosed with Alzheimers mini strokes and parkinsons, I'm her carer so can be awkward now and again.. Remember you haven't got it yet hopefully you won't. Best wishes............ Billy
Hi Billy, all the best to you, I am so sorry to hear this additional news.
Red
Hi Red.
You really should ask your GP for a PSA test, discuss your symptoms and take it from there.
Your symptoms won't get better until you discuss them with your doctor, and if it is cancer then the sooner treatment starts, the better your options.
