New to Cancer chat 'scared'

Hello

I am new to this forum. I have been reading the posts and found I feel somehow no longer alone.  I have not been diagnosed with cancer. I will be undergoing tests in due course. In the meantime, I am living in fear and finding the fear debilitating. I hope I can be part of the chat in this context as I don't know where to get further support having been to the GP and tried to explain to some close friends who find it hard to understand the level and all encompassing fear I feel. I am frigthened of any diagnosis and the tests which is compounding my fear,  I hope my first post is okay and in the right place.

Thank you for reading and any support would be gratefully received

Polly

  • Billygoat, you're our superstar on here....xx

  • Hi polly,

I have my appointment with the haemotologist on Wednesday as I've had problems with my underarm lymph node for almost 2 months now.

Back and forth with blood tests and x rays. Currently being treated for anaemia in the meantime. A potential infection showed in my x ray, so I have to have a 2nd course of antibiotics, the first lot didn't do anything. Doctor isn't really sure what she's treating hence the referral.

Like you, I'm a nervous wreck about it. I wasn't expecting the referall either, it was a complete surprise. It came the day after A&E sent me home for wasting their time with chest pain.

Good luck and please feel free to chat. X

  • Sorry you've had a bad night, I'm going to gloat now...I had 8 hrs last night!!!! Yippee!!!!! That's pretty rare for me, but boy does it make a difference!
