Hi, I couldn't scroll by your post without stopping by to give your hand a virtual squeeze. You certainly have had a lot to contend with. Can I ask what treatment you had for your bc? I was diagnosed just before Christmas, I couldn't imagine all this on top of it...

I had a mastectomy with implant reconstruction and now on Tamoxifen. I had grade 2 stage 1 IDC high grade DCIS. Have you had any more news on your diagnosis ? X

I had a lumpectomy...it was a grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma....I am now waiting for an appointment to see the oncologist for my treatment plan......such a whirlwind! 

I do hope everything turns out well for you...

ps...how you finding the tamoxifen? Xx

Tamoxifen hasn’t been too bad. I’ve had a few hot flushes. Emotions are a bit up and down but I think that’s down to stress.

I hope you get on ok with your treatment plan x

I had two tumours both under 2 cms and lymph nodes wasn’t affected. So hopefully they had got it all.

My mum died of BC when she was 46 and both my brothers and nephew have been diagnosed with Pten mutation. I’ve had the test so waiting for the results but am sure I have this too.

Sorry to hear about your mum.  My mum had breast cancer in her early 40s and again in her early 60s, same breast completely different cancer.  I know just how lucky we are that mum got through both, especially as both times she was given a year to live at one point.  However, with all the bad luck I'm getting it appears she used up all the good luck!!!!

I think some poeple have very good guts for their medical condition, like you knowing you'll have the PTEN mutation.  I knew from my late teens that I would get breast cancer young and that I would have a genetic mutation.  Not in a negative way, it didn't stop me living, but it did make me push for early screening.  Still I was consistently refused early screening so here we are, mind you early screening only tends to start at 40 and I was probably well into stage 3 by then.  My mum pushed for genetic screening but was refused, fair enough on her first cancer but her second cancer should have prompted genetic screening.  Had mum been genetically tested then I could have had prophylactic surgery in my early 30s and avoided all this.  Them's the breaks!

I'm expecting results a week on Wednesday so am in the waiting game with you!
