sorry to come on again with worry, but after reading my appointment letter again it states XR mammo guided core biopsy. I am really panicking now as isn't the x-ray procedure a stereotactic biopsy? xx

I'm sorry I don't know the difference between the scanning methods used, mine was guided by the ultrasound, so they could see where to take the biopsies.

I hope you are coping with the wait and get some reasurrance when you go for the biopsy.

If you have not been yet, there may be a number you can ring on the appointment letter, so someone can speak to you about the procedure.

Fingers crossed you get a good result.

Hi everyone

tha k you so much for being there for comfort. I kind of feel like a fake; not intentionally of course. They re-took mammograms through magnification and the radiologist came to me and said on comparing them to previous ones all looked benign/ok. 
 

I was kind of shocked because didn't for one minute imagine not having to have that biopsy which was stated on my letter! 
i am so thankful but even more so, feel so much for everyone who has had to go through more :(

I am so happy for you, and I hope they have reasurred you all is ok now.

I felt the same when mine was benign as I was so worried and had worried everyone around me, and then it was ok :happy:

The blind panic is the same leading up to the result and its going to be reassuring for others waiting that all sorts of results can occur... its terrible that not everyone gets a good outcome, I wish they did.

I'm fine thanks... year check up was ok and another 3 years till the next... which I'm already dreading...

Ah thank you. I know, it really does throw u into a spin doesn't it. I'm looking forward to a good night sleep and not thinking about it 24/7. 
 

so glad your yearly check was positive! But another 3 years is good. I am sure you will continue to be strong and positive during that time. Just make sure you look after yourself. As others have said there is so much they can do now, and have come along way with different treatments. I only wished they had been around when I lost my mom with it, but we can be grateful for it for ourselves and for our children too.

I am sorry that I haven't replied sooner. I have been away from home for a few days, while my computer was in for repair.

I am delighted to hear your good news. After all the worry you've been through, this must be an immense relief.

Here's hoping that you don't have any further scares like this, but do ckeck your breasts regularly just in case.

Hope everything goes well for your daughter. I had the same last month. 3 biopsies an ultrasound and mammogram and mine in benign. Fingers crossed for good results.
