Cervical cancer

I really could use some advice, I'm feeling so very alone and don't know where to turn.

  • Hi

welcome to the site, lots of lovely people on here

I have cervical cancer stage 2b, just started my treatment, so far so good.

What took me me to the doctors was after I went to the bathroom, I wiped myself and there was blood in my discharge when there should have been, I had a internal examination and was told I had a ulcer on my cervix, then I had a ct scan and MRI scan and was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

If you have any questions then feel to ask away, your not alone

  • Hello! I know this thread was some time ago now but it is the 1st time I have come across someone with the same symptoms as me @limesbabe . I was the same had increased discharge for a long time but blood in the discharge and on tissue after wee promoted me to go to GP. GP saw the blood in my cervix and also an ulcer. I was referred for an urgent colposcopy (not an MRI or anything like you) .. had colposcopy last week so results within 4 weeks. At colposcopy they didn't mention an ulcer but could see something and bleeding so took a biopsy. They did not seem too worried though. Did you ever have a colposcopy? X

  • Hello I was just reading through the messages as I'm so scared I'm 25 I've been for my first smear test the results came back that I have high risk hpv but the cells came back as inconclusive as there were not enough I have to now wait another 3 months for my cells to rebuild and I'm so scared the only symptom I have is spotting after sex I'm so scared to wait another 3 months for a smear incase I have something and I'm letting it get worse but I don't know how else I can actually get checked could anyone advise if there is anything. Else I can do and explain what is means to have high risk hpv

  • Hi Louise, I've just replied to Lauren below about my situation so hopefully this will help you not feel alone! Waiting is dreadful!!

I am by no means an expert but I did a bit of research for myself.

High risk HPV basically just means that out of the 100 odd types of the virus there's about 15 ish that are high risk ones meaning they are the ones that usually cause problems.

However no matter if you have high or low risk the majority of the time HPV does not cause any issues and goes away on its own!

Fingers crossed you get some news soon

    Best wishes, Hannah
