22 and freaking out

So I went to my doctor and explained I have this ridge down the side in my left breast I have had it for ages but after seeing a post I thought I should get it checked out , she felt it and said it felt fibrous and palpable ( I’m not overly sure what that means ) she said it’s good I’m young and no family history but she referred me to a breast clinic. I’m just absolutely spiralling and can’t stop thinking worst case scenario. I can’t sleep keep crying I know it probably seems so silly but I don’t know what to do I’m terrified for my appointment

    I am sorry to hear about your concerns and hope that you don't have too long to wait for your breast clinic appointment. At 22. it is most unlikely that this will be cancer, but unfortunately, not impossible. I know the anxiety that this wait causes, but you have done the right thing in getting this investigated. Only 20% of those who attend the breast clinic will get a cancer diagnosis. Here's hoping that nothing untoward is found. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.
