Scared after seeing on my NHS app the words 'suspected gynaecological cancer'

Hello,

I went to the Dr about 3 weeks ago after some bleeding in between periods and lower back pain.

Had a blood test done on Tuesday, which came back as abnormal. My CA125 result was 43. I spoke to the Dr and she said she would do a fast track referral for a scan and to see a gynecologist. The scan date has come through for 28th May.

I am really scared after seeing on my NHS app the words 'suspected gynecological cancer'. I am 42.

    Hello :)

Aww thank you so much for that, will let you know how it goes. My mind has been so shifted, as unfortunately it was not good news for my poor Dad :( he found out at his appointment, and told me Friday Just waiting now for his appointment to find out next steps, and the results of the CT scan they did on Weds. I am so sad. Just praying it won't have spread x

  • Yes ok at the moment. Havent done alot a bit of tidying, tv and resting. Dont want to over do it and hate the heat. Good distraction with familyx

Oh gosh I’m so sorry to hear that, do look after yourself as it’s a lot to process alongside what is going on with you too. Sending lots of good thoughts your way xx

  • Definitely rest up, it’s a huge op as one of my friends I met on Thursday was telling me. I hadn’t really realised as just kind of thought they whipped an organ out. Sending healing thoughts your way and let’s hope we get some more sensible summer weather soon! X

Thank you so much  sorry for the delay!!

Thankfully the penthrox was amazing! It did the job, I fully zoned out so he was able to do the biopsy. He said everything looks ok, no polyps so he is expecting the biopsy to be absolutely fine which I am so pleased with.

My poor Dad has got a surgery date of the 22nd so to be honest I have hardly thought about anything else.

    How are you? Xx

Ah excellent! Glad it went well! Hopefully your dad’s surgery will go well too.
oddly I’ve had a letter from the hospital cancelling my follow up appointment on 21st and saying I’ve been taken off so I don’t really know how to feel about that. I did want some answers/information so I guess I’ll speak to my gp. Hope your results come back quickly and all is well with your dad x

Sorry for another delayed reply  all is fine, just so busy with the end of the school year and the heat! It is pretty unbearable isn't it!

Oh that sounds very harsh to just cancel. I would be exactly the same, you must have things you wanted to discuss :( have you managed to speak to the GP yet?

Thank you. Haven't had the results from my biopsy yet. All I can think about is my Dad. Praying the surgery is successful, and the recovery is ok. They told him he will have an MRI after it x
