Fast track referral

Hi, I’m struggling with some anxiety since I had an ultrasound yesterday. I have had some post menopausal symptoms and was initially referred for a uterine ultrasound. The results have shown some concerns and I’ve now been fast tracked to Gynaecology.

I’ve had symptoms for a while and my mind is completely working overtime! I know it will not help, I just feel I’m struggling to manage it.

I’m really nervous about having a hysteroscopy and biopsy and hoped there may be some advice on what to expect.

  • Hello Bexxx,

It's completely understandable that you are suffering from anxiety since you had your ultrasound. It's good that you have had your post menopausal symptoms investigated but it must be hard for you to be dealing with this time of uncertainty, to know that results have shown some concern but not knowing exactly what is going on. Being fast tracked will hopefully mean you will be seen quickly and I hope that you will get some definite answers soon.

It's normal to feel like your mind is working overtime during this period of uncertainty and it will be a time when you may feel like you are struggling with everything. I thought I would share with you these helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news. There is information on our website on the hysteroscopy and womb biopsy which I hope you will find useful and which will tell you more as to what to expect.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have been in a similar place before and who have been fast tracked for similar reasons and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
