Hi, I am in a similar situation,age 56,  GP concerned with bleeding since changes to HRT ( to progesterone only from combined patches),after almost a year of no period.Had Ultrasound scan Tuesday, shows thickened lining, now awaiting urgent Gynae appointment within next few weeks.Am obviously worried about outcomes but also glad that it's all being dealt with quickly, it's all a bit overwhelming tbh.

My story is identical to yours. I should have had my hysteroscopy on 29th but my anxiety was through the roof so consultant asked me if I preferred general aesthetic. I jumped at the chance. Now I am waiting for a pre op appt and a telephone call for appt to have the hysteroscopy and biopsy done. It’s very overwhelming but reassuring that things are happening quickly.

Well I’m home and quite spaced out on intravenous anaesthetic and painkillers. Wasn’t given any information other than biopsy results will be sent to my gp and a copy to myself. I go on holiday on Saturday and in all honesty even if I have to spend the whole time just relaxing and taking painkillers it will do both myself and hubby good to get away. The waiting is going to be horrendous as I have no idea how long it is going to take and of course no idea what they may have seen or found. Argh!!! Beaty is I went u der in the anaesthetic room and came out in the recovery room non the wiser. I’m shattered and ready for a deep sleep. Was wide awake at 2.07am through the nerves kicking in. Definitely wouldn’t have got through this on gas and air or paracetamol and ibuprofen that’s a certainty. But it’s over now which is a huge relief. Hurry up results

This is what I have done. I’m on holday and, yes, it’s on my mind, but to hell with it, I’m having a good time regardless. Our catsitter is on alert for a letter, which we’ve asked her to open and photograph for us if it arrives. It’s been almost three weeks since my procedure so I don’t know what to think. Enjoy your holiday. 

 MillekA glad today went well and hope you can enjoy your holiday, where you off to ? Ainberlin My info leaflet says 4-6 weeks for biopsy results , my appointment is next week and I go on holiday in 7 and a half weeks. Great timing for us all ! But, like you both I plan to enjoyy holiday.

So after my hysteroscopy yesterday, and being told I need MRI within10 days, I have been called in for one tomorrow!! This has put me into immediate panic!!

We’re heading to Cornwall. We used to go every year u til covid hit along with my hubby having a meningeal tear which had him bed bound for nearly a year on and off and literally no f2f appointments ex eating quick in and out ct and mri scans. Everything done via telephone. Anyway my point is he wouldn’t drive far just incase he had a major bleed. Well this year he decided we go to Cornwall and I’m stoked for it. Dragging myself there come heck or high water. :)

Hi MillekA, I wanted you to know that all may not be bad. I just got my results and there’s no cancer. I was expecting a worse case scenario, dreading the results and now, the sense of relief is palpable. So, it doesn’t have to be bad news. Keep the faith xxx

This is a good point. Something has caused the bleeding. They do mention a polyp and so I still need to chat with my gyno. Tbh, if she suggests a hysterectomy, I’ll do it. Can’t get cancer in something that isn’t there! I hope that everyone here is as blessed as I feel today. I’ll keep in the thread, to cheer you all on. We’ve got this, ladies xxx

Had my appointment today, was transvaginal scan , shows I probably have a polyp and womb is thicker than it should be , so to have a hysteroscopy.He sounded positive though due to me having had three children so that's reassuring.He also said my body will be producing more oestrogen due to my weight , he reckons it's a combination of this and my HRT.Hopefully I won't have long to wait for the hysteroscopy but am feeling better today about it all.

My bleeding was down to a polyp which was removed in my Hysteroscopy. Scan showed thick lining but results from my Hysteroscopy say a thin lining! I’m just waiting for biopsy results now but was reassured that it all looked ok during procedure
