Coping with the wait!

Hi, just wondering how anyone else has been able to cope with waiting for test results.  Have been told I have cancer but waiting for biopsy results to determine whether it's lymphoma and if so what type.  The waiting is so frustrating and upsetting and I feel like I'm on an emotional rollercoaster.  I try to keep myself busy and to avoid researching - although that's quite difficult at times.  Sometimes it's hard to stop my mind wandering to worse case scenario.  I'm sure that there are lots of you in the same position and wondered if you chould share how you are dealing withi it, or just confirm that what I'm going through is perfectly normal :)

  • Hi, I have just joined the forum and I am in the same boat as you, your post was the first I read and I can totally relate to what you are describing, it is a rollercoaster with emotions and feeling.

I like you am trying to think positive and not read to much into it before all my results and Scan are reported on and I am told what the journey ahead is going to be, but it’s the waiting that is most difficult, the unknown! We will get there and keep positive and it’s good to have this chat forum for support as well. Take care of yourself. X

  • Hey lovely to hear from you.  Yes the waiting is such a tumultuous thing to go through but staying positive and not dwelling on worse case scenario is best for the mind.  Although it is difficult at times.  Sorry to hear you are going through a similar process and I hope you get some answers soon.  If you are anything like me you will just want to know what the treatment plan looks like so we can start taking steps forward.  Take care of you x

  • Your reply to Spring 2402 expresses how I feel too.

It's normal to think about the worst case but unhealthy to dwell on it.

Let's hope that all our outcomes are good.

  • Fingers crossed for everyone and praying for the best possible outcomes for all x
