I am so sorry that you have got all these concerning symptoms and I hope that you won't have to wait too long for to be seen and have the endoscopy. If your GP has done an urgent referral I would have thought that you will be seen sooner than June - do get in touch with your GP to check how long the wait might be too be seen and whether this referral means you will have your endoscopy before June. 

If you type 'Barrett's oesophagus' in our forum search which is located in the search bar at the bar, you will be able to see all past relevant threads by other members affected by Barrett's oesophagus and feel free to respond to any you feel may have been in a similar situation you currently find yourself in. 

I am keeping everything crossed for you that you are seen very soon and that it turns out to be nothing of concern. Do keep us updated if you get a moment. I hope that you will hear from others who have Barret's oesophagus and suffered similar issues.

Hi Amanda, 

I just recently had an endoscopy for suspected hiatus hernia and it mentioned on the report possible Barretts (my mother had this)  I am also concerned about how it might be, if it is found to be the case after biopsy treated and monitored. 

I can fully understand your worry.  Having something and not knowing when and if it could change. 

I do hope that you don't have to wait to long.  my referral was fast tracked because of my mother and symptoms and it came through within a couple of weeks, so hopefully yours will be the same.

I am not actually diagnosed with Barretts as yet just said on endoscopy report that it saw possible Barretts tongue ? Biopsy taken to check so need to wait and see. I actually didn’t know I had a hiatus hernia until recently .
