Barretts

Hi, I was diagnosed with Barretts around 6 years ago. My symptoms have now changed and looking at the symptoms for oesophagus cancer that the Barretts can turn into I have them all. I am waiting on an endoscopy after an urgent referal from.the GP. I do have these yearly and the next one isn't due until June. Can much change happen in this time. I'm so worried.

    I am so sorry that you have got all these concerning symptoms and I hope that you won't have to wait too long for to be seen and have the endoscopy. If your GP has done an urgent referral I would have thought that you will be seen sooner than June - do get in touch with your GP to check how long the wait might be too be seen and whether this referral means you will have your endoscopy before June. 

    If you type 'Barrett's oesophagus' in our forum search which is located in the search bar at the bar, you will be able to see all past relevant threads by other members affected by Barrett's oesophagus and feel free to respond to any you feel may have been in a similar situation you currently find yourself in. 

    I am keeping everything crossed for you that you are seen very soon and that it turns out to be nothing of concern. Do keep us updated if you get a moment. I hope that you will hear from others who have Barret's oesophagus and suffered similar issues.
