Breast burning/tingling

Hi. I did want to upload a picture so you could see.
But in my left breast i am feeling a burning/tingling feeling, it also feels like areola (i think thats what its called) has gone lighter and is really sensitive to the other (keeps going hard) and seems to be a little flatter than the other one, also the burning feeling feels like its in my armpit now also!

i have a referal made but this 2 week wait is scaring the life out of me, my anxiety is at its max to the point i cant eat  :(

ive had loads of bloods done and all come back ok, but i no bloods doesnt pick up cancer. I had an inflammatory blood test which came back as normal.

i am so so scared.

    Hi Jolamine.

Soo.. He wouldnt even ultrasound me, he felt all around and could see i was swollen by my arm and it was tight (no swollen lymph nodes) he pressed all around my boob an it was sore till he pressed right at the bottom of my boob an it was soooo sore, he said i have done a muscle underneath. I cried to him saying what if its IBC cuz that doesnt show lumps an he said your breast are both normal, he was absolutely adamant i have done a muscle which sill radiate to under the breast. I said why is my nipple doing retracting, he said becus of muscles underneath.
I have some relief but its still in the back of mind i really just need to try and trust him. He was a top consultant, but i just hope hes correct in what he was saying. But he was looking me right in the eyes and saying both breast are normal!

    Hi N92,

It is always difficult to believe a consultant, when no further tests have been carried out and you have already diagnosed yourself with something serious. Most consultants can tell by the feel of our breasts, whether there is cancer there, or not. If they suspect it, the will then carry out tests to confirm this. I am in a similar position after my visit to the breast clinic last week. The consultant refused to do an ultrasound, because she couldn't find a lump and assured me that all was fine.

I guess that we really have to take the consultants' word and place our trust in their expertise. However, if your symptoms persist and you are not reassured, you are always entitled to a second opinion.

    Kind regards,

    Hi N92,

Monitor your symptoms for a few months and if you are still not happy, seek a second opinion.

I will. I did say to him when i use a heatbad it helps but when i lift my arm i have feel a pulling inside but he couldnt feel anything abnormal. Its so hard to explain. I had chest pains about 6 weeks ago and that went, then i had the burning pain and now i have which he says is muscle pain which is why hes saying it muscle because how its changed. Im not sure why my nipple is so sensitive though but he said it is all linked even though breast have no muscles its tissue, muscle’s are underneath.
if it doesnt improve by xmas i will go back to the doctors.

not sure how i would of done it but i did have a chest infection about 4 weeks ago x

It's always easy to pull a muscle, by lifting something, which we often do without thinking of the consequences. I expect that this could also be a legacy from your chest infection too. Here's hoping that it settles down soon and you'll have no need for any further worry.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Is it dangerous to leave it a few months and monitor symptoms? I only ask as I’ve had mine for almost 2 months now and the doctor obviously told me it’s nothing to worry about but I’m not convinced :( . Luckily I don’t really have the aching pain anymore, but the affected breast has grown alot so I’m still worried. I was also thinking of waiting until Christmas before going back, but worried I might be leaving it a bit long
