Living in a waiting world

Do you ever feel as if you are living in a different world from other people? - in a waiting world? You try to get on with ordinary, normal everyday things, but the unknown is hanging over you and really in a way you are just sort of existing in this waiting world?

  • I can so relate to this. I waited 8 weeks for a 2ww urgent referral which was a few days ago. The waiting was hideous but I filled part of the time by paying for a CT scan as my GP said this would be the next step but he couldn't refer me for one and I'd have to wait for Gynae to do this. The CT was very expensive but reassuring.  I found the meeting with the consultant confusing and a bit contradictory and now I'm waiting for the MDT to decide next steps. Hopefully a couple of weeks, but more waiting!
