Good afternoon ladies,
I am just after some words of advice and of comfort really.
I am 44 years of age and post menopausal. I had brown discharge last week and a bit of spotting. No periods for over 5 years. I was sent for a scan and it came back as 5mm thickening. A hysteroscopy was then requested.I have been for this today. The lovely lady doctor said she couldn't complete the hysteroscopy because my cervix are tiny (her words) I have never been pregnant and don't have any children. She said she'd be going in blind and would need to size up on her instrument ♀️ 3 or 4 sizes bigger. She did not want to go any further. She said she was going to speak to another specialist for me to have it done under General anaesthetic.
I have read some not nice things on the menopause matters pages about this procedure. I have never been put under ga and just concerned about the process. I really wanted it done today after trying to stay positive about the whole thing. I feel disappointed it wasn't able to be done and to get some answers to it all.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post
