Thank you Minska. I know it's a waiting game just needed to reach out. My hubby is away on business tonight we've spoken but I haven't told him because I know he'll worry and come rushing home. Think I just needed to tell someone as all come as a bit of a shock, don't expect that when you go for a routine smear xx

Oh, I’m so sorry you’re on your own tonight-that’s very hard for you. It’s very difficult not to worry, I understand that, although I was more a “bury your head in the sand” type of person, so I maybe didn’t have the same level of worry. But it could be something like a polyp, something benign. Until you’re told different, you just don’t know, and whatever it is, no amount of worry will change it. That much I did learn along the way! xx

Ah Jinkycat, how awful for you. 
There are many benign possibilities for a cervical growth though, such as polyps, fibroids, prolapse, cysts etc.
