Cin3

Hello ladies

Im going around in circles in my head, and came to this forum to see if anyone can shed any light

The other week i attended hospital for a smear test on the back of a 111 call I made for some symptoms I've been getting , such as pelvic pain, lower back ache ,hip pain and some shooting pains in what seems My vagina

I was asked to go to for a colposcopy , at the colposcopy the nurse examined me ,put some solution that I can only explain as a vinegar solution on and had a look in my cervix , a smear was taken only and no biopsys as far as I'm aware.

A few weeks have gone past and I received my results earlier last week , my smear has shown

High grade dyskaryosis cin3 and have been asked to go for a loop procedure,

For the last however many days , because I have a very severe anxiety disorder I've convinced myself that I have cancer of the cervix.

I've spoken to  two doctors, macmillan nurse and the hospital themselves who took my smear test and they are all telling me I do not have cancer ,  I understand my severe anxiety is playing havoc , but everywhere I look on Google and forums I'm getting increasingly more scared because some women are reporting having CIN3 and after the leep procedure they are waiting on results again

I'm at a total loss what to think , and have never been so confused in my life , can anybody please explain to me what exactly is going on.

  • Hi emma

i have had a very similar experience, I had a smear in November which came back positive and high grade dyskarosis. I had a colposcopy and the dr said it looked to him like invasive cancer.
i was and have been in bits waiting for my biopsy results to come back which said cin3 and as I had the lletz I have to go back in 6 months. It's a relieve to be told that it's not invasive cancer but it's still worrying and I hate all the waiting.
i hope everything goes ok for you and when you have your 6 month check I hope all is ok for you too. I'm anxiously waiting for mine xx

  • Hi

    Em sim

The waiting is horrendous it really is and i sympathise with you a million percent , I'm also with you in spirit through this time as I'm going through exactly the same thing as you myself.

Please keep in mind that you have been told its NOT invasive cancer , this means you don't have cancer

Your procedure may have to be done a few times in order to get rid of these bad cells

Ive read a cone biopsy is more effective than a lletz because it takes more of a portion of tissue that contains this cin3 , but please don't this information as truth I'm just a average person who constantly googles since this diagnosis to which My mental heath is off the scale.

Can I ask if you have any symptoms with this cin3 if you have any , so we can compare perhaps?

My story has been very quick and everything's been marked as urgent I absolutely can relate to your feelings

Life seems to be on hold,  you will get through this and I absolutely wish you light at the end of it all

  • Hi

yes absolutely it is just a constant in the back off your mind all the time it's the what ifs and what if they were wrong etc.

i actually didn't have any bleeding as I have the implant and I haven't had a period since I got it.
i used to be on the mini pill which didn't agree with me so I chose the implant.

sex can sometimes be uncomfortable but I just put that down too having two children with complications and both vaginal births.
i will absolutely support you too I'm always here if anyone ever wants to have a rant.!
i have back pain but I have had that since I had an epidural it's never been right

    how about you? Xxx

  • Hello,

    I hope you're well?

I totally understand your worries as I'm currently experiencing the same problem. My tests a year ago showed mild dyskaryosis and following 12 months repeat smear test last month I just received my results and a hospital letter stating it's high grade severe dyskaryosis now and it will require a treatment. I have to arrange my hospital appointment tomorrow and it's the only thing that been on my mind. Disappointed and and upset as tried to live healthier last year, quit smoking (cervical cancer often depends on a lifestyle) but none of that helped. I also had covid last August which I blame on weakening my immune system. Not sure what to expect and what the outcome will be now x
