Indeterminate breast calcifications

Hi, has anyone else had this issue?  I went into breast clinic with another lump (I've had numerous fluid filled cysts over the last four years).  That was all fine but they flagged up calcifications on the other side.  I was really shocked.  I've got a biopsy next week and I'm in that horrible inbetween place of not knowing and worrying.  Is this likely to be DCIS?  Thanks x

  • Hi All!

I hope everyone managed to get at least a little bit of respite from the fear and anxiety this weekend.

Vicki - how was the beach hut? Hope that fresh air did the trick for you.

    Take care of yourselves xx

  • I took the kids to the cinema on Saturday, and then had my sons 4th birthday party on Sunday. So I've managed to keep quite well distracted!!

The breast clinic just called, and they've moved my results appointment to 9:40 on Thursday, instead of 11:40. So at least I don't have to worry all morning. It will be school run, then appointment!! Praying for benign results!! Xxx

  • Hi everyone

Glad to read that everyone is doing well and staying so positive.  Thinking of you all.

Enjoy this sunshine and hope you've all had a good Easter.

  • Hello! Sorry for late reply. It was my birthday on Easter Saturday. I enjoyed lots of sun and some cake and lovely food.

Mammogram and ultrasound this Saturday. Was meant to start weekly chemo and phesgo today, but my neutrophils are too low so it's been delayed by a week. Just as well as my ecg isn't until the 25th April. They have to do an ecg to make sure my old ticker is strong enough for the phesgo. All fun and games...NOT!

Anyway I hope you are doing well. Xx

  • Happy belated birthday wishes!

Glad you had a lovely day and the sun was shining for you xx

  • Aww, thank you. How are you doing today? Xx

  • You're welcome!

Having a bit of a blah day! Bored of being sore haha. My daughter didn't get a place at our preferred school yesterday so that's been on my mind. Not that I can do anything about it!!! Just feels like I can't catch a break at the moment.

But....shouldn't moan!!! I know it could be a lot worse. Will pull myself together and get out the happier side of the bed tomorrow!!

    Sorry for the negativity!!!

    Sending hugs xx

  • Oh no! Sorry about your daughter's school place. I know what a blow that can be. Please don't apologise for any negativity, we all have days like this and it's more than healthy to let it out. I had a mostly down week last week and was being far too harsh on myself and then I had a very unexpected period. Its been on hold for the last couple of months and then decided to show up. So I'm not surprised I felt all over over the place.

Are you limited in your bathing at the moment? I'd say have a long warm bath otherwise.

Sending hugs, light and love xx

  • Thank you for your kind words and understanding! I know that down times are normal but good to hear it from someone else who gets it!

Oh my god how great would a nice warm bubbly bath be!! Sadly not allowed haha!!

Having my pump and bandages off tomorrow so hopefully that will make things easier.

    Xxxxxxx

  • Morning lovely lady

Hope today goes well and that you feel a bit brighter. I have to say, I am feeling like a normal person this week and it feels awesome. The extra week between last treatment and new regimen is actually just what i needed. I am throwing beetroot, kale, celery, cucumber and blueberry smoothies down my neck every day to try and increase my blood counts. I think mentally I will be ready next week to start my new regimen of treatment. Bring it on!

  • Hi PositiveT

Hope your recovery is going well. I think we are all entitled to 'down' days so I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. I've had quite a few myself in the last two weeks, mainly because I have felt completely exhausted and beaten up. I seemed to have turned a corner yesterday though - which was exactly 2 weeks post surgery. Hoping to get my two drains taken out tomorrow - they have given me more discomfort than the foob and make it difficult to sleep.

No results yet - hopefully next week.

`I had a lovely Easter thank you - helped by the beautiful weather and not having to do any gardening! I have managed to hoover and do the ironing though.

Hope today goes well and you are feeling brighter.

    xx

  • Hi Vicki_76

So pleased to hear that you are feeling much better this week. Those smoothies sound delicious and a great idea.

Hope you had a lovely birthday and wishing you the best of luck for your new regimen.

    xx

  • Awww, thank you. Glad to hear you have turned a small corner and I hope you get some comfort when your drains are removed. Not getting quality sleep is really horrible.

Sending positive happy vibes to you xxx

  • Hello everyone

I thought I had posted an update last week but it doesn't appear it was saved! I got a call last Tuesday morning to say that my results were in and my consultant could see me then. Delighted to say that not only did he take the final drain out but he also told me he got clear margins and that I didn't need any further treatment. I can't tell you how relieved I was. My husband burst into tears when we got back into the car. Bless him!

We went ahead with his Big Birthday Party on Saturday night and I managed to dance and stay up until 2am.

I have been put on Letrozole and keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get too many nasty side effects.

Hope you ladies are all ok and had a relaxing BH weekend.

    xx

  • Wahooo!!

That's fantastic news Bubblesmum. And so glad that you got to celebrate your husband's birthday in style!! Nice work on keeping going until 2.00am!!!

I hope you tolerate the medication well.

    So pleased for you!! Xx

  • This is AMAZING news!!! SO very pleased for you. I can only imagine your absolute relief and joy. No wonder your hubby cried too.

Glad you had fun at the party and what a celebration!

In my news, I finally started paclitaxel weekly chemo yesterday and am so happy and relieved to find that it really is way easier than the ec chemo I had. So only 11 more of these babies to get through, then surgery!

    Xxx

  • Hi Vicki,

Super happy that you are finding the paclitaxel so much easier. Hope the 11 weeks fly by for you!

    Lots of love xx

  • That's wonderful news, so pleased for you.  Your husband, bless him.  He must have been holding it together for you.  How wonderful that you managed to party to celebrate.  Absolutely fantastic to hear that.
You can now get back to living again, it feels so good to be on the other side doesn't it.  Anyone else not quite there - you will be soon, keep going and stay strong.

Myself, I can't believe I'm 6 weeks post mastectomy this week!  It's all settled down pretty well and healed.  So far so good with the Tamoxifen, even though the leaflet in the box says 1 in 10 will get a blood clot on it!  That's pretty worrying, but will keep going!

    Best wishes to everyone.

    Mary x

  • Hi ladies!

It's been a while. Just wanted to check in and say hi and see how you are all doing.

Missing you all and the chat.

I'm good. All healed, back at work just waiting on my radiotherapy. Delayed it until after our little butlins holiday. Figured my little girl deserved a break without any further stress.

Lots of love and best wishes to you all xx

  • Hi Positive T,

Great to hear you're doing well and hope you enjoyed your break with your little girl.  I'm not up to speed anymore with what everyone is doing treatment wise, so I hope the radiotherapy goes well.

The chat was fantastic for me going through that appalling time from diagnosis through the waiting for results and I've missed it too and pop on sometimes just to still read others experiences.

From my perspective I'm now 10 weeks post mastectomy and it's all healed well, no issues.  I'm just a bit dazed at what I/we all just went through and am still processing it.  I know I was damn lucky not to have chemo or radiotherapy, but now I'm through it all (with Tamoxifen), I'm so full and fear and doubts about it coming back.  I wanted to zap it with all they'd got but they said not needed.  I suppose coping with the worry of recurrence is just the next stage on this journey.

Sending my love and best wishes to everyone too.

  • Hi Mary.

Really nice to hear from you.

And glad that you're healing nicely and no chemo/radiotherapy needed.

I imagine we'll all struggle with the fear of recurrence and it sure is a journey coming to terms with what we've been through (and still are)!!

    Sending hugs x
