Indeterminate breast calcifications

Hi, has anyone else had this issue?  I went into breast clinic with another lump (I've had numerous fluid filled cysts over the last four years).  That was all fine but they flagged up calcifications on the other side.  I was really shocked.  I've got a biopsy next week and I'm in that horrible inbetween place of not knowing and worrying.  Is this likely to be DCIS?  Thanks x

  • Hi Bubblesmum,

Sorry for not seeing this post sooner - I am really glad that your surgery went ahead and even happier to hear that it all went well.

Hope you are recovering well and getting lots of rest.

    Xx

  • Hi

I came home yesterday afternoon and managed to get some sleep after a sleepless night in hospital. So lovely to be home. I feel ok today - taking painkillers regularly and pottering/resting! The drains are the worst bit - uncomfortable and heavy- carrying them around is a bit like being pregnant again!

Good luck with your surgery next week - it's amazing what they can do!

  • Thank you so much. Pleased to hear about your surgery. Xx

  • Hi Vicki,

Just wanted to check in and see how your MRI went.

Hope it was OK and hoping for positive results for you xx

  • Hello my lovely lady

No results were clear enough because I was moving too much apparently!! What a waste of half an hour in a metal tube. So instead he had a feel and confirmed that he too cannot find my small tumours. I'm booked in for a mammogram and ultrasound next Saturday to have a look also and in the interim I start new treatment on Tuesday next week. It had better be more tolerable than EC! Ugh. 12 weeks of it!! In other news I had my wig fitted on Thursday. Its amazing! So real, long, luscious and lovely. :)

    How are you doing? Xx

  • Hey!!

Oh no. Wkat a pain. MRI's aren't fun at the best of times and to not get any clear results what a nightmare. Am sure the mammo and ultrasound will be more definitive. And so good that they still couldn't find your lump on examination that's such a good sign.

I'm doing ok. Had surgery to sort out my dent on Thursday so back in recovery mode. Not the greatest way to spend Easter but must not complain!

Consultant confirmed I will need radiation so will suss out the details at next appointment in early May.

Wishing you all the best for the next round of treatment. Really hope its more bearable than the last. You've got this!

    Sending hugs xx

  • Happy Easter ladies

Hope the weather is being kind to you. [@Vicki_76]‍ hope your ultrasound and mammogram go better than the MRI. The wig sounds lush. Did you get it to match your own hair? Best of luck with the new meds. Hopefully they'll be more tolerable than the previous ones.

[@PositiveT]‍ hope you're not in too much discomfort. Was it a long procedure and how long is your healing time?

    Enjoy the long weekend.

  • Hi Bubblesmum!

I'm pretty sore today!! Worse than after first surgery but had drain taken out this afternoon so hoping that will help! It was about 2.5 hour procedure and I am expecting about 4 week recovery time. Its all fun and games!!

How are you doing since your surgery? Hope you're recovering well and feeling positive about what is next to come in your treatment (if anything!)

Hope you had a lovely Easter!

    Sending hugs xx

  • Hi everyone

Glad to read that everyone is doing well and staying so positive.  Thinking of you all.
