  • Hi Shannon

    Sorry to read your news.

I too got diagnosed with bc in March after my mammogram, I could not feel any lump and had no symptoms. It is hard to get your head around the news and even now I still have days where I think is has this really happened to me.

When will the results from biopsy be back?

Happy to answer any questions you may have.

  • Hi Louise

I get my results on friday the19th nov, after the tests the consultant said id definately have surgery so i will meet with the team on friday too.thank you for taking the time to answer my post,i feel so out of my depth.Pauline x

  • Hi Pauline

You will do sadly its not the news any of us want to hear.

Your team will be there for you at the end of the phone. There is this site and also breastcancernow.org is good. Not sure if your on Facebook but there are groups depending which type of bc it is. They are invaluable as people going through the same will totally understand your fears and as you go through the treatment any concerns.

Can you take someone with you Friday?

  • Hi Louise,I was told it is breast cancer and also told it has been caught very early.I will have an op to remove the cancer on the 1st of december and will need radiotherapy after.I was surprisingly calm and the nurses and consultant were absolute angels really kept me calm and took everything slowly and it has now gone in and ive accepted this is really happening.Pauline x

  • Hi Pauline

  • Can i ask how you are doing?Did you find it hard to say the word cancer?I don't know why i find it so hard to say.I sit and for a split second i forget all about it and then i remember.Im so pleased you have a good team too we are so lucky to have the nhs.Pauline x

  • I'm doing OK. I had surgery in April then started chemo in June I finished it just over a week ago. I have 2 weeks of radiotherapy next month then that's it. Its not been an easy road the chemo was hard going at times.

Yes to start with I did find it difficult to say I think its because we never expect it to be us.

I was quite blasé at first people felt sorry for me etc but I told them nothing I can do I've got it so just want to get on with the treatment. I've made some lovely new friends since I was diagnosed but lost some old ones who couldn't deal with it.
