Hi jeangrt [@Marlin]‍ sent me she's a big bully. Anyway yes hormone therapy side effects are hot flushes and probably put on weight. Hot flushes can be treated with meds from Dr, he still might get a bit but most will have gone. Good luck to your husband. If he puts on weight proper food and exercise help..

Hi thankyou for replying,I know hot flushes are a common side effects ot hormone treatment but for the first 3 months he had no side effects at all guess we hoped he was getting off lightly. My question is is it normal to start these side effects 3 months after the start of the treatment and not at the beginning?

Hot flushes can start at any time. Mine was about four months before It started. Others do start within weeks . It depends on how long it takes to get round the body and start working properly...

Just so you know I've prostate Cancer gone to lymph nodes, spine, ribs, pelvis and a lung was diagnosed Feb 2016 been on palliative care since permanent hormone therapy cemo when neaded. I'm living with my uninvited guest.

I was diagnosed Nov 2019with PSA 3426 that has gone to hips,femurs, humerous,scapual (left and Right) , Im 52 yr. I was started on hormone therapy too as it's standard  for prostate cancer. My hot flushes started within a couple of weeks, my wife thinks its funny and revenge is sweet.

Hi Tony,       Thanks for taking the time to reply, We find it very odd that different people have side effects at different times of treatment. My husband has a Gleason score of 8 diagnosed in november2012 started hormone treatment beginning of December. Hot flushes for that month since then hardly anything! Maybe they will start again who knows! His prostate cancer is known as locally advanced so 7weeks of radiation to follow. When he was getting flushes in the first month he at least felt the treatment was working . Hope everything works out for you.
