Hi,
I was diagnosed with rectal cancer at 34 and had a lower anterior resection to remove my rectum. I was given a temporary ileostomy whilst my bowel healed.
My bowels have never been the same but I had got used to it and was just thankful that I was still here. Unfortunately I was admitted to hospital in September 2019 with diverticulitis and when they did CT scans on my abdomen they told me the tumour had grown in my femur.
Well long story short I didn't know I had a tumour but it's been there since 2017 when I was diagnosed with rectal cancer. I was referred to a consultant and now I've been referred to a pioneering orthopedic hospital who are amazing.
I had a biopsy done two weeks ago and was diagnosed with primary bone cancer on Wednesday. To say it was a shock is an understatement. It's looking like there is something in my genes and will not be having surgery until I have had a full body scan to check that there aren't any other suspicious areas.
